Only one week to go ( thank God) to the GE.Quite a while back we booked a holiday not knowing a GE would be looming and now DH is very put out as this will only allow a fast time scale for us to rush and vote that day before we go( but vote we shall.) Then we can have our holiday and forget about it all.
What we do quite often when going on holiday, is invite friends to stay in our home, and they do the same for us, so we all get free holidays in a different area,
We water plants and take care of pets.Does anyone else do this?
Also, does anyone stay up all night to look at GE results as they come in? I never do, ( like my sleep too much) but DH always does, he likes the excitement. This year he says he will have a glass of something fortifying to hand though.grin

Maizie and angelab there are over 4 million people who will feel like us on Friday morning and many of them will not have been allowed to vote despite paying taxes for years!

So Welsh students should choose English universities over welsh universities, and what happens to .welsh universities?

My granddaughter is not changing her choice , but she is Welsh and loves her country.

I thought that any Welsh student going to an English UnI had all/ part of their fees paid anyway.Obviously they do if at a Welsh Uni.

Shouldn't you be addressing questions about Welsh university fees and fees for Welsh students at English schools niversitues to the Welsh government Annie?

I never said any such thing Annie - most students choose their Uni for the courses they offer.
My DGS looked at 2 Welsh Unis and 2English ones. As it happened the 2 Welsh ones were superior to the English ones for the particular subject he wanted to study - although both English ones are very good Unis but for other subjects. He is just finishing a PhD at the Welsh one he attended.

The fee situation has changed over the years as at one time all students at Welsh Unis had the discount but the applications were too numerous - so now it is limited to those who have been educated in Welsh schools and/ or had a Welsh home address for some time.
I think all EU students in Scotland get their fees paid for except English ones - some strange anomaly !

Nightowl, shouldn't Corbyn hsve the sense not to canvas for votes in Wales by telling of his plans for England, would he do this is Scotland? And the Welsh government gets the money from the English parliment
