Former leadership rival Owen Smith appointed to Shadow Northern Ireland Secretary in Jeremy Corbyn’s reshuffle

Announcing the changes to his Shadow Cabinet, Mr Corbyn said: “I am delighted to announce four appointments to fill shadow cabinet vacancies. I look forward to working with the strengthened shadow cabinet as we prepare a government in waiting to carry out our manifesto for the many not the few.

I agree with what you are saying about modern degrees Gracesgran people speak disparagingly about degrees in Media Studies when in fact the media is a big part of our economy.

Talking about education with my son and his Danish wife. I asked her what size classes she had in Denmark when she was in school.
17 at the most.
We need more teachers. Why are there not more courses in the philosophy and sociology of education?

Jalima1108 Sat 29-Jul-17 17:09:37

Is that the norm for all schools?

There are 12 in DGD's class (primary)

petra Sat 29-Jul-17 17:24:03

durhamjen
That's probably got something to do with the fact that Denmark has a population of 5mil+

durhamjen Sat 29-Jul-17 17:28:46

This is what happens when you outsource student loans.

Less people in Denmark than in London!

rosesarered Sat 29-Jul-17 17:59:15

....although it wouldn't be at all surprising if she did, given the provocation.

Urban dance! grin very useful.( not )

rosesarered Sat 29-Jul-17 18:00:23

That was to Ana btw. grin previous page.

durhamjen Sat 29-Jul-17 20:55:51

Population has got nothing whatsoever to do with the number of pupils per teacher. Even schoolchildren know better than that.

Here's a Labour film to go and see.

Listen to him singing, at 85.

Wonder if Corbyn is in Venezuela congratulating the President on his victory !

devongirl Mon 31-Jul-17 13:26:42

Fgs Annie.

Anniebach Mon 31-Jul-17 13:34:42

Devon girl, God has nothing to do with it, a labour thread and a post about the leader of the Labour Party

durhamjen Mon 31-Jul-17 13:47:18

I don't know, Annie. Is he?
I am sure you could find out if you really want to know.

Anniebach Mon 31-Jul-17 15:01:12

I doubt he is Jen, would be rather egg on face time after the praise he heaped on this caring for the people president and how the government of Venezuela was the perfect example for communist rule

durhamjen Mon 31-Jul-17 16:14:46

So you haven't been able to find out if he's there.

Anniebach Mon 31-Jul-17 17:32:34

Haven't bothered Jen, thinking about it he has remained silent in the lead up to the election , think if asked about his praise for the president he would give the same reply as he did on being asked about calling Hamas his friends - with hindsight I was wrong. He tends to do this .

petra Mon 31-Jul-17 17:43:54

annie
I think we can safely assume that he has abandoned his 'brothers'
This quote has been deleted from his web page.
"Venezuela has seriously conquered poverty by emphatically rejecting new liberal policies"

Anniebach Mon 31-Jul-17 18:21:38

Thank you .petra, so with hindsight this man of honour! Was wrong - again.

And he wants to take this country the same way.

devongirl Thu 03-Aug-17 19:39:27

annie I am mystified, as a self-professed labour supporter, who exactly do you want as the party leader?

Anniebach Thu 03-Aug-17 22:28:19

Devongirl, I no longer give it any thought, he is there to stay and I think Thornberry will take over the reins when he does stand down. I voted for
Andy Burnham when .milliband won and was going to vote for .yvette Cooper but switched to Corbyn, I really did believe he was an honest man, I was wrong.

whitewave Fri 25-Aug-17 09:05:04

Pleased to read that Labour is beginning to win back a lot of support in Scotland.

Anniebach Fri 25-Aug-17 09:13:08

I am concerned there are plans to stop Burnham and Khan speaking at this years conference because they are not of the left.

GracesGranMK2 Fri 25-Aug-17 09:19:36

Devongirl, you share that mystification with many of ussmile along with what socialist principles AB wants put in place.
