Would 'The People' accept a highly redacted and incomplete report from Ms Gray?

What do you think?

I have had a quick look and the above is correct, relieved my memory has not let me down. .

Nothing will save him now, the you know what is hitting the fan. As well as his birthday party, this is also in the news tonight. Serious stuff.

^He's toast.^

How is he 'toast', curlywurly?

No-one can get rid of him.

The 1922 Committee can only sack him as leader of the tory party. They can't deprive him of the Premiership. He could hang on in there for the next 3 years as PM.

The queen does have technical power to dismiss a PM if they are 'behaving unconstitutionally' but it's unlikely that she'd use it.

The opposition parties could call for a vote of no confidence, but with the tory majority would they win it?

Would he do the decent thing and resign? Well... is it likely that Johnson could do a decent thing?

Well, whether he stays or goes, he's toast. He's lost all credibility. He's lost the trust of many and has undermined all those who obeyed the rules - they won't forget or forgive him; he's now between a rock and a hard place.

So the interior decorator earning vast quantities of our money was invited to the illegal birthday party.

Curlywhirly Tue 25-Jan-22 08:05:03

Why was the interior decorator even at number 10? I thought, if you couldn't work from home, only essential work was allowed during lockdown?

Oldnproud Tue 25-Jan-22 09:28:22

I found this Government guidance relating to tradespeople from mid-May of that year:

6. Communicate with households prior to any visit to discuss how the work will be carried out to minimise risk for all parties.

7. Maintain social distance (two metres apart) as far as possible

The last word of No. 6 made me chuckle. It could have been written specifically for Boris grin

The sad truth is we have to 'accept' whatever we're told.

The evidence to many people seems overwhelming, but as we know, Johnson and his ilk have never though that the normal rules apply to them.

Tory MPs 'waiting for Sue Gray's report' are sitting on the fence hoping to protect their own and the party's position through some distraction or technical hitch. If they had any integrity at all would they not think that enough is enough and act now?

Regardless of the outcome of the report their reputation is that of liars and cheats and seemingly dally in corruption at every opportunity. We have all been seen hundreds of failings happening weekly, some at huge cost financially and to human life. These failings have been investigated, proven, witnessed and clearly documented in plain sight. Their reputation hasn't stopped people voting for them in the past.
We will have to see if it does so in future. I'm betting not.

The mystery to me is why people defend them and still vote for them.

He’ll limp on as he truly believes he is somehow the chosen one delivering the “will of ( a minority) of the people”, besides which he has surrounded himself with supreme dimwit a*se lickers who will lie through their back teeth to support him.

I'm wondering now if they will refuse to publish it because 'there is an active police investigation'

Kali2 Tue 25-Jan-22 16:48:15

And here is the follow up question.

Will the people accept that Gray's report will be delayed again due to MET investigation. I say, NO- two are separate, and Gray's report has to be published latest on Thursday.

Mamie Tue 25-Jan-22 16:49:35

Could be published tonight apparently.

Mamie Tue 25-Jan-22 17:14:17

Or handed over tonight and published tomorrow. If it is published before PMQs that will be quite something.

Kali2 Wed 26-Jan-22 09:29:46

Wondering who will be at PMQT!

Gray wants it out in full, No 10 has previously said it will be out in full, so if PM decides not to, expect political onslaught from opposition to force it out“

Presumably opposition would also include some Tory MPs who still have some integrity?
