Joe and Jess Thwaite from Gloucester won an astonishing £184 million on the EuroMillions.

Oh heck.
I’d hate it. What about you?

I’ve thought about this again.
I’d still not tell anyone.
I’d get Houses for the family, not huge. Decent cars not huge.
Good holidays again not extravagant. No 5* hotels.
My extended family struggle and live in an area that employment is difficult, I’d concentrate on family and deserving friends that wouldn’t expect me to give.
Just to make life easier for family would be lovely to do. Music lessons and drama classes, ballet lessons etc
I love to make their life special.
Oh I so wish I could do this for them.

I think it would be quite overwhelming and could rock the boat of the marriage if they wanted different things.

I can relate to this. We don't do the Lottery, but OH and I sometimes daydream what we would do in this situation. We never can agree on priorities for how to share out the money so would most likely end up in the divorce courts. sad

That's easily solved. If you win jointly then put a third into a joint account for things you both want and then a third each into separate accounts. Problem solved! you get to do your own thing with your own money.

Cheers, Chestnut. You can always rely on GN for sound advice smile

I feel that amount would be a lot to cope with. If I did win a large sum I would make sure my family were all secure for their lifetime, Take time to think for a while and then, perhaps some personal projects, all quite modest. Th en I should like to help several charities and enjoy life, probably though in a newer bungalow with more light.
