This is from the Times but was in lots of papers.

Labour are Democratic Socialists volver. It may sound daft but there really is a difference between Democratic Socialists and Social Democrats. I would never describe myself as a Socialist but I was a founder member of the SDP all those years ago.

^Successful Scandinavian countries have a labour socialist government.^

I did a bit of a Google.

Norway - Social Democrats
Sweden - Social Democrats
Denmark - Social Democrats
Iceland - Liberal
Finland - Social Democrats

That's what I meant social democrats

These countries do very well health care, education, good pension good wages government takes care of people people trust government. Higher taxes but good wages.

Volver - shall we agree to disagree?

Galaxy

I know the electorate not behaving as you want them to. What can you do.
I think it's worth noting how long that particular nonsense has hung around for, 5 years maybe. Am sure theres a lesson to be learnt there about the importance of 'the messaging' but that's the Blairite in me coming to the fore.

Was that for me Galaxy?

The electorate can behave any way they like, I'd just like them to know what they are voting for. Or against.

Sorry, does it mean that no-one can bring up other subjects?

The Green party are a political party. They have policies on trans inclusivity, the NHS and education. And lots of other things. And the environment.

People can bring up any subject they like. But wondering why the Green Party "get mixed up with trans people"? Then saying that of course they can have policies about it?

Its late on a Saturday. Maybe its me.

Gossamerbeynon1945 Sat 28-May-22 21:08:41

I really liked Tony Blair. Maybe I'll vote Independent!

So why did you bring it up?

Gossamerbeynon1945 Sat 28-May-22 21:03:36

It doesn't.

Galaxy

It was quite a long time ago now. To be fair it was a particular section of the party not green party policy grin. Everyone took the piss for a few days.

And yet, still people thinks it's a good reason not to vote Green.

I know that, but I find your last post, confusing. Who said Trans people are bad for the environment - I certainly didn't! Could be me, but I always thought the Green party were environmentalist.

And why does that mean they can't have a policy on trans people?

Where?

Surprisingly, some politicians can have policies about more than one thing at once.

Mixed up with trans people though. Shocking. Think they'd know better. Trans people are famously bad for the environment hmm

Gossamerbeynon1945 Sat 28-May-22 20:50:10

Well I have seen it said. I thought the Green party were all for the environment, so why are they getting mixed up with Trans people, particularly in Scotland?

None of the parties you mention know what a woman is, in fact, the Green party call women - non-men!

I'm not getting into this again.

Like Boris, I've learnt my lesson.

Got bored after that.
The Green party do not call women "non-men".

Gossamerbeynon1945 Sat 28-May-22 20:44:25

I do live in Wales which is under Labour control. Can't think of anyone to vote for.

Interesting.

One person is friendly old Boris and the guy called Starmer doesn't know what a woman is.

Sensible political thinking, there.

Where do I go from here! Lib Dem, Green, Socialist, Independent...Plaid, SNP, DUP...whatever.

Lib Dems, Greens and SNP are no better than Labour when it comes to biological understanding.

I don't know about the rest on that score, but Plaid and the DUP aren't an option unless you live in Wales or Ireland, and Socialists and Independents are very variable and again, not available in every ward.

WW2, indeed, that is also an option. One of my daughters has to do that.
