Well done by Led by Donkeys!

Led by Donkeys have conducted investigations into the desire by MPs for 2nd jobs. Their latest investigation confirm that Matt Hancock and Kwasi Kwarteng tout themselves at £10,000 per day. In the middle of a cost of living crisis when constituents needs their MPs to support them, they proved that Matt (do anything for money!) Hancock and Kwasi are prepared to accept approaches from overseas businesses. Led by Donkeys established Tories are the most willing to accept foreign engagements. Oh for a time when MPs' focus their work on their constituents and their needs. More to come out in the following days!

There were a lot of things about Corbyn that I didn’t like, but I still voted for him because of the awful things the Conservative government were doing to this country and it’s people. And are still doing ( having widened it to people outside of this country, too).

What is KS trying to do to Islington North bringing in someone who runs a string of private health clinics. Apparently he thinks it's a good idea to try to take Islington North - described by residents as Corbyn Country.
Labour's lead falls to 14% with the gold standard of polling Survation
Labour led by 39% five months ago.
Starmers war on Corbyn will cost him.

We are now facing the reality where both major political parties are run as a closed club of cronies, who in effect deny ordinary members a proper say in how decisions are made. This is a step back in time to when ordinary folk were denied a voice in the political process.

Your war on Starmer will cost the Labour Party too, methinks. I don’t think anything that Keir does will ever please you

You are very selective in your portrayal Grany. Why don’t you concentrate your efforts on responding to the issue raised in the actual post instead of constantly going off on a Starmer bashing tangent?

I’ll be honest, I don’t think Labour will struggle because of your efforts to diss him at every opportunity, here’s another very recent poll which says the opposite of your suppositions - balance in all things.

Why is Starmer My Labour Party getting rid of Jews who support Palestine, lifelong anti racists. Why does he not have a word said against Isreal an apartheid state? Is it because quite a few of his front bench are a member of Friends of Israel? And equate anti semitism with support for people of Palestine who are being persecuted. There is a big wall built there bigger than the Berlin wall keeping them apart. I really just don't like the way he is running his party. So say a lot of other people but you won't hear it from MSM as he is establishment

MayBee70 Thu 30-Mar-23 14:14:07

Well, let’s have a Conservative government in perpetuity then.

Grany Thu 30-Mar-23 14:07:35

Well I haven't seen anything he's done that would please anyone. He is deceitful a liar. Has not got back to top.barrister Martin Forde who he commissioned and who says there is a hierarchy of racism in Labour with over 100 of his recommendations that were not implemented. People do not like him.

If the incompetent can ask for £10,000 how much can the competent ask for?

Siope Wed 29-Mar-23 16:51:25

Aside from the ethical concerns, they were shockingly bad at basic maths. No wonder the country is in such a state.

I found it unsurprising - and very amusing - you could almost see the pound signs in their eyes! We need more of this!

You could!

Isn't it amazing that people already very well off react like this to the thought of getting even more money? I feel this is why it is much better for the economy for people at the lower end of the income scale to get an increase; they will spend it on things that support businesses. I don't know exactly what these three would spend it all on, but their income is already so high that they are far less likely to spend it; it will probably instead be used to make themselves more money on the money markets.

And Johnson has just been in Lagos giving a speech in which he makes jokes about partygate. Not sure how much he was paid this time but I bet it was more than my yearly income.

CoolCoco Mon 27-Mar-23 16:49:17

They should only be allowed to work for a few hours per week in public service or for a charity voluntarily .

Coco51 Mon 27-Mar-23 16:36:25

MPs are paid to look after their constituents. They are paid a good salary and should not have any other job.

EmilyHarburn Mon 27-Mar-23 14:36:19

Fine to continue working for continuing professional development and to retain ones place on ones professional register but earning silly money for ones personal network due to work and social contacts is a disgrace.

paddyann54 Mon 27-Mar-23 14:35:36

there was a massive outcry about Phillipa Whitford doing cancer operations and BEING PAID for helping to cut queues while keeping her qualification s up to date.Westminster was its usual braying ,ignorant self .Yet these eegits are being paid massive amounts and not turning up at WM to do a job they were elected to do ,Johnson,Hancock and many others ...one rule for them another for us !!

MayBee70 Mon 27-Mar-23 13:36:35

And Labour MP’s were approached by LBD’s but it was only Conservative ones that responded. And discredited ones at that.

The same thing happened to the labour mps a few years ago they are all the same self serving mps

So? Does that make it right?

I was appalled at the arrogance and greed of these people. Then I was appalled at the stupidity of them not to have done their homework before Zoom-ing with a company that did not exist! Surely they must be deselected.

Cossy Mon 27-Mar-23 12:32:25

I echo the sentiments of the OP and applaud Led by Donkeys !! Awful bunch these ministers, greedy and self serving and forgetting to whom their loyalties should lie !! I’d bar second jobs - they earn an ok salary plus expenses and subsided meals !!

Grantanow Mon 27-Mar-23 12:21:05

Of course they have after-dinner speaker Johnson as their glorious role model in the greed department.

spabbygirl Mon 27-Mar-23 12:17:49

if they really think working outside gives them valuable experience then a couple of shifts in Tesco or A&E would provide excellent experience.
Well done Led by Donkey's for such a great scam & shame on those who got taken in by it, fancy not doing background checks first! Shameful!

Susieq62 Mon 27-Mar-23 12:16:15

I am currently sitting in a cafe in Singapore! Flying to the UK tonight! Having been away for a month to NZ and Oz , trust me when I say that money talks in every country!! I trust Led By Donkeys implicitly and they will have done their homework ! We need people like them to expose these people for what they really are! Greedy! Useless! Unintelligent as are those who elected them !!

Caleo Sun 26-Mar-23 20:00:14

These people know that we know they are immoral if not criminal. They don't care that we know about them as long as they can make a profit.

Happygirl79 Sun 26-Mar-23 19:47:45

Until it's illegal for MPs to have second jobs, we will never attract the calibre of person we need in government.
They should have to prove they are working full time for their constituents to even claim an MPs salary, in my opinion
