Apples

Well, if we cannot discuss oranges what about apples. My husband used to correct me when I said "apple and blackberry crumble". According to him it should be "blackberry and apple crumble". Was he right?

I’ve never heard anyone say “bramble and apple crumble” knspol . I do love bramble jelly jam though . Yummy ?

Well, if you think about it, Apple and blackberry, or bacon and eggs is more aesthetically pleasing, as they are in alphabetical order. That's the way I say them, never the other way round.

I don’t think alphabetical order comes into it. We never say ‘chips and fish’, mash and sausages’. There are probably many more examples that could be added.

I would say Blackberry and apple crumble.
As in Strawberry and gooseberry crumble
I see them as an addition not the main filling.
