Spring!

Both the noun and the verb!

It was mild enough for me to start weeding the vegetable patch , so it is spring.

My elderly cat demonstrated that he may be getting on, but he isn't old by running as fast as possible the length of the lawn and back, about 5 yards each way and springing three feet up the nearest tree at the end of each lap.

He did about five laps then went back to mousing.

He's 11, what does that compare to? 77 if dog and cat years are the same.

When he was a kitten, I thought he was determined to become the first domestic cat to outrun the cheetah, as he ran 7 or 8 laps through our flat, which wasn't small, very day. I always expected to see his brother pull out a stop-watch and time him!
