Had a new hot water cylinder installed in the week, due to old one leaking (all over my best winter duvet actually - why didn't I twig what the disgusting mouldy smell was?!). I have just noticed that it has a minimum recommended setting marked on it of 60 degrees. This apparently is to avoid the possibility of Legionnaires Disease!
For the past fortytwo years I have had the temp set at 50.
Can Legionnaires Disease get into a domestic hot water supply? If so, how?
DH seems to be going along with it. Its going to cost us money!
