Looking up pms.

(36 Posts)

I often want to look back at some information I got in a pm and as I get a lot it takes ages to go through them all. Would it not be possible for us to have some method of putting in a name and getting all the pms we had received from that member
We also very much need a delete/edit button for posts.
Any response, technical folk?

Have a muesli bar.

Movedalot Thu 12-Sep-13 16:33:18

Yes, must have a deficiency! grin

Ana Thu 12-Sep-13 16:23:41

You're probably not eating enough cereal, Moved! grin

Movedalot Thu 12-Sep-13 16:21:55

I don't think I notice many coincidences, probably just not looking for them.

Greatnan Thu 12-Sep-13 16:07:01

I do have a very good memory for coincidences.

Greatnan Thu 12-Sep-13 16:04:53

Cry HAVOC........etc. grin
I think I will have a cup of tea and a cereal biscuit.

Perhaps Ana you remembered it as it is such and extraordinary thing to do? We all remember things which we find rather odd.

Ana Thu 12-Sep-13 11:16:00

Now there's an idea for those long winter evenings....

Greatnan Thu 12-Sep-13 11:12:57

Phew, that's a relief. I thought you might have cut and pasted all my posts!

Ana Thu 12-Sep-13 11:10:11

I certainly don't remember all your posts, Greatnan! That would be some feat of memory...

You started a thread about The Notebook, asking if anyone else did the same. I thought it was rather unusual, and it stuck in my mind, that's all.

Greatnan Thu 12-Sep-13 10:58:13

But why should you even bother to remember all my posts, Ana? I can't say I return the compliment. grin Do I loom very large in your mind?

KatGransnet (GNHQ) Thu 12-Sep-13 10:48:58

We'll look into the PMs, and let you know...

As for editing/deleting posts, it would require too many gerbils knitting circuit boards to make it feasible grin

Ana Thu 12-Sep-13 10:35:39

I just have a very good memory, Greatnan.

j08 Thu 12-Sep-13 09:44:15

And what's wrong with a separate post? You can have a whole thread of 'em if you like.

ninathenana Thu 12-Sep-13 09:41:21

I'd like the edit facility. It's available on all the other forums I use. Why would it cause chaos ?
I do always preview but sometimes just as I've pressed send I'll think of some additional point I could have made which then means a separate post.

j08 Thu 12-Sep-13 09:21:23

You're getting a twitch phoenix! shock

Anne58 Thu 12-Sep-13 00:17:04

.

j08 Thu 12-Sep-13 00:12:43

Bet she doesn't keep a dossier! grin

Anne58 Wed 11-Sep-13 23:47:00

I still wish that each thread showed the name of the person who started it and the date!

Not impossible, BMC used to do it.

Greatnan Wed 11-Sep-13 23:28:53

You take such an interest in me, Ana, it is quite touching.

j08 Wed 11-Sep-13 22:50:16

Blimey!

Ana Wed 11-Sep-13 22:50:05

I thought you kept a notebook containing such information, Greatnan.

Greatnan Wed 11-Sep-13 22:47:10

I don't always know they are important when I first get them. For example, somebody might tell me something about themselves when we are chatting and some time later I want to remind myself what they said before I talk to them again. It may just be the names of their children but I like to get it right.

Ana Wed 11-Sep-13 22:14:18

Riverwalk, I realised that was wrong shortly after I posted it! grin

janeainsworth Wed 11-Sep-13 22:12:04

Greatnan you could copy and paste your PMs into a word document as Ana suggests, but no need to print them, just save them in Word. You could put them all in one folder or have separate ones for different people. (I think)
