Have you ever fostered?

There's been lots in the news recently about fostering - including the fact that more than half of the UK think that anyone over 55 isn't allowed to do it. Fortunately this is a myth - particularly given the fact that many people in this age group would make excellent foster parents - often experienced, and benefiting from a stability some younger people may not have.

We would love to know whether any of you have had experiences with fostering. Have you (or a friend) taken in a foster child? Is it something you've considered? Or would you rather leave your nest empty <finally some peace and quiet>?
