Morning HQ.
I would be grateful if you would give me the heads up on how to block PM poster. sad

I think there is a button on the page. If you need to block someone, you could also report it to GNHQ.

Hi All. To block unwanted PMs and their senders:
Click on the message.
Just above the message you'll see a button on the left side that says " block sender."
Click on the button and the sender will be blocked.

Somebody sent something to a member pretending to be me.....I was a bit concerned?

MawBroon Tue 20-Nov-18 13:22:24

How could they do that old Batty the sender is set automatically is it not?

oldbatty Tue 20-Nov-18 14:47:24

Honestly, I don't know. Really, truthfully.

I would like a notification that a PM is in my inbox- sometimes I forget to check, and miss a PM for several days, and I do not want to appear rude by not answering.

Elegran Tue 20-Nov-18 15:26:14

GrannyGravy13. I always get an email notification when "a PM from a poster with the nickname XXXX" is in my inbox.

Are you ticked to receive the news emails from Gransnet? If you are, you should get the notifications too.

Elegran Tue 20-Nov-18 15:29:42

The place to opt in to newsletters etc is at www.gransnet.com/member/email-options

I think it’s impossible for someone to pretend to be you oldbatty as the name of whoever sent the message cannot be changed, it’s an automated response.
You may have sent a message to the wrong person by mistake.

Fennel Tue 20-Nov-18 16:50:42

I always get an email too.

ninathenana Tue 20-Nov-18 16:57:53

I get an e-mail but to an account I rarely look at. I did try to change to my usual account but numpty me could make it happen.
