And doesn't it get to them when they play Flower of Scotland! tbsmile

I've just realised who that emoticon reminds me of - John McCririck! shock

(Though probably without the smile...)

It was great watching the swimming tonight and seeing somebody other than an Australian win for once. The Scots and English did so well.

It's women fighting now. Don't like that. tbhmm

I'm sure there's a skill to it, but it just looks like - fighting.

'ang on Ana. I'll Google him.

Oh I can't stand him. But yes, you're right.

I do not like Flower of Scotland and I wish we could get rid of it, but well done to the Scottish and English swimmers

It's a bit of a dirge, isn't it, Crow? And the wording (which one can rarely hear anyway) is all about history - 'proud Edward's army' indeed. If Bannockburn is the only thing we have to be proud of in our history, I suggest that we look for something more forward-looking, like the Australian anthem which, although clichéed, is all about being a young nation with a future: 'Advance Australia fair'!

This doesn't mean that I don't want to hear the 'Flower' played many times in the next two weeks!

Was at the swimming heats yesterday morning and the Scottish fans were going crazy. It was very exciting with so many games records being broken. !

Sounds great Seasider. smile

These games have made me want to see Glasgow.

I like the tune of Flower. Will have to Google the words. (And brush up on my history!)
