Mines is the urban decay naked cherry palette. https://www.urbandecay.co.uk/en_GB/make-up-palettes/naked-cherry-palette/ud927.html#start=2&cgid=makeup-palettes what is yours?

Lancôme or Chanel. You can feel the difference in quality.

Frankly if I have a favourite I couldn’t care less what it cost or which brand it is. I have 2 favourite Urban Decay lipsticks, Liz Earle Foundation, Benefit blusher and Wunderbrow eyebrow stuff.
Are you making a point?

Maggiemaybe Thu 20-Dec-18 19:29:32

I don't buy high end make-up, not since a 17 year old me was pressured into buying a cream blusher that cost more than the weekly rent of my bedsit. I had sleepless nights over that, and can't even remember what make it was.

I like Maybiline , not sure of the spelling ! Max factor is there too . My eyebrows have gone all thick and wiry after having been beautifully behaved up to now sad

forgot Lidl moisturiser for sensitive skin , feels lovely and works

Dolcelatte Thu 20-Dec-18 19:39:01

Estee Lauder double wear foundation, have used it for 35+ years, nothing else comes close. I also like urban decay but for cheaper I really like the French make Bourjois.

Do not stint on your skin care, but what make-up you use over that is immaterial.

After trying cheaper brands, I have gone back to Lancome Teint idol ultra wear, I can see the difference in how it looks , it's worth paying a bit more for the results.

Clarins Total Eye Concentrate

High end ? why bother I certainly don't just make sure as MOnica says take care of your skin and the make-up will take care of the rest.
I have had comments that my skin always looks good and I use a £1.99 BB cream along side Simple cleansing products.

I love Clinique CC tinted moisturiser. Not sure if it is high end or not. At the other end of the scale my DiL swears by eyeliner from Hema at £1.50.

I like No 7 foundation and Burts bees lip colours, although am with Dolcelatte re EL's double wear, it's the best you can get.

Jessity Fri 21-Dec-18 09:01:36

Elemis skincare, Lauder and Lancome make up for me

suzied Fri 21-Dec-18 11:29:59

Another vote for Lancome, the foundation is fabulous and ditto eye shadows.

janeainsworth Fri 21-Dec-18 11:48:54

I’ve moved on to Charlotte Tilbury for make up.
No7 skin care products, after a free trial from Gransnet about 5 years ago.

I have bought my daughter some Laura Mercier this year (among other things) from Space NK so I am keen to see how she likes it.

Chanel lipstick, it feels fantastic on.

BlueSapphire Mon 07-Jan-19 23:23:45

My DD loves Nars. And did you know that Bourjois is an off-shoot of Chanel?

MawBroon Mon 07-Jan-19 23:23:52

Let’s hope Father Christmas brought you some of the “high end” brands you do like.
Or perhaps your parents?

Niobe Tue 08-Jan-19 08:55:22

The 'high end' bit puzzles me. If a product is good and does what it should why restrict yourself to expensive brands? Can't cheaper products work? I use Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation but my brow pencil is a £1 one out of Wilko as is my eyeliner pencil. If something works for me that is enough.

Grannyboots1 Tue 08-Jan-19 09:08:10

I wear Lancôme foundation, it has a great concealer in the lid which covers the darker brown sun spots. It's expensive though at £40.

stella1949 Tue 08-Jan-19 09:41:55

I've used Nivea all my life, "high end" means nothing to me. I haven't got any wrinkles at 70 so something is working.

Lynne59 Tue 08-Jan-19 10:10:41

MawBroon.... I had to laugh at your last comment grin

Who cares what make-up anyone wears? I think so long as it looks half-decent on, it doesn't matter what brand it is.

MiniMoon Tue 08-Jan-19 10:39:45

I haven't worn makeup since I was about 21. I had a really bad reaction to something that I put on my face, and it out me off for life.
You don't need it.
