My attention was caught by the TV sound enhancer thing, as the sound on a modern TV is, in a word, crap... but it's priced at over £300.

They don't make my old sound system anymore - AIWA. It's big and bulky and black, with CD player, FM tuner (I never use that) Power amp, graphic EQ and twin tape cassette players (I'm not sure I can remember how they work!) I also have a large Numark USB turntable that - one day - I will get to grips with...

Bought Bose radio/CD player 4 yrs ago and am well pleased.Wonderful sound takes up very little space and is portable.Only sorry it doesn't play tapes as I have some vintage ones and special family recordings.

Right I'm persuaded.

We have a Bose radio/CD player and are very pleased with it. It isn't too big and the sound is fantastic.

I have a Bose radio/CD player and an iPod docking station and they are BRILLIANT. The quality of the sound is amazing. Well worth the money. They are small and neat and you don't have to have huge speaker to get the excellent sound quality.

We have Bose radio/CD player which is very good and have recently seen a Bose 'thing' that enhances the sound from the TV. Has anyone got one or know anything about them? The theory is that, as the speakers on modern TVs are very narrow and on the side, the sound is awful and this 'thing' will make it better. See, I knew I wasn't going deaf! grin

My SIL was at MIT and they get a discount on Bose for some reason. He maintains they are by far the best. We only have an all purpose radio Cd and tape player which does me about £.16.99 from comet.but then I'm tone deaf.

I've recently bought a Marantz cd player which was recommended for listening to classical music.

My BiL has a Bose system, which looks very complicated and high-tech. He loves it, and spends hours every day with his headphones on, enjoying his vast collection of music. Says it was worth every penny!

I'm thinking of updating my radio/music system.
Has anybody any experience of these systems?
