Thanks everyone D solved the problem.
Although I have it set to automatically update it hadn't been happening angry
It took 4 hrs last night to upload 18 updates for various things. No wonder it wasn't working .

ninathenana, what model of mobile phone are you using and what does the error message actually say? Your phone could be trying to use Google's voice search app, the Google search bar on Chrome may not be working, Play store may have crashed, Gmail may need you to re-enter your account password. Google takes many forms on smartphones, unless you know which one is complaining, you will find it difficult to fix. If you can narrow it down, there may be some help available on this forum (or you could go into a mobile phone shop that sells phones that use your provider's network and ask them to help, they are usually pretty good at sorting out customer's phone problems).

I've tried the on off. That's D's answer to all tech probs smile.
I've managed to get GN and FB as they are pinned to start.
The most frustrating thing is the message box telling me it's not working pops up every minute or so and I keep 'X' ing but it dosen't tell me how to get it back ggggrrr !

More likely that it is unable to connect to Google because of some hitch in its own works.

Could it be part of a phishing scam trying to get into your computer system? Just a thought!

Switching things off for a few minutes then switching them on again works for most things.
Pity it doesn't work for Presidents, parliamentary candidates, and , well, just LIFE in general wry grin

Can you phone out with it?
Is the internet setting turned on?
Is it set to use the wifi? It may have got switched off somehow.

If these seem ok, maybe turning your phone off completely, leaving it for 5 minutes then turning it on again could sort it? It might start up fresh with Google connected OK.

Can anyone explain too me why my phone is telling me Google has stopped working ? It's been like that since 7 am. Do I need to re load it ?
I'm using my Kindle at the moment. Google and wi-fi are both working fine.
