Abta Claim, no response

Although I have sent at least 6 messages to Abta via the site I have received no response at all which worries me as it is now over a month since I made the claim.

I was just wondering if anyone else is having the same problem.

I reclaimed my air fare for another trip via my credit card and received the money back.

The agent made the claim from Abta for me for one trip the other I claimed myself.

Not sure what to do for the best.

I think you must just be patient. I was told that it may take up to 6 months for a refund after my cruise line went into admin. I too am claiming via ABTA but hope that my agent is actually doing the work for me. All requested details have been sent off and, hopefully, got to the right places. Fingers crossed for now.

I have two agents involved for two cruises Hays travel who did the claim for me and Cruise 1st who didn't even contact me, never ever book through this company.
Cruise 1st left my husband and I stranded in the Indian Ocean. They never informed us the March cruise ship wasn't picking us up. We only found out the day before because our daughter contacted us. We had left England in February before any of the nightmare started.

After Monarch went bust it took 6 months to get the refund from ABTA, they claimed the first lot of documents not received even though we had proof of them being signed for and then they 'lost' the second lot. We had to send a third copy of everything and eventually they paid up, minus the cost of sending everything recorded delivery almost £20.
They were rude and unhelpful and we got the feeling we were being a nuisance for asking for our own money back.

I am still hoping to get compensation for the flights we had to book to get back to the U.K. in March. I sent all the documents off, just like you nanof3 by recorded delivery, in April.

Nothing, no acknowledgement or anything. I followed this up with a phone chat. Sent off copies by email but they couldn’t read them. I did get a claim number though so I am in the system somewhere! I’ve just sent more copies by post, again recorded delivery so here’s hoping someone can sent them on to an agent working from home!
Damn, I didn’t put in a stamped envelope so that probably won’t happen ?
Good Luck.

Clearly and understandably ABTA are overwhelm by the overload on their system of claimants.

I have now decided having read you comments I am claiming back from my credit card companies.

Rang Tesco and Barclays this morning and they are happy to do the claim back even though the cruise company are in administration. Could take up to eight weeks but at least I have spoken to a human being so feel more confidant in getting my money back.

Would this be Cruise & Maritime?

Yes Cruise and Maritme.

I'm having the same problem with ABTA. Claim is also for a Cruise and Maritime refund. I logged the claim at the end of July and ABTA haven't responded to my queries. I also have another claim with P+O booked by Cruise 1st - both have been useless, just fobbing me off and I have been waiting for refund since March!

Good job we are all very rich?

Only a month? I've had a claim with my insurers pending since April. Every 6 weeks or so they send me a spurious email asking for something I've already submitted or that is totally irrelevant to my claim. My replies are getting increasingly stroppy.
