Does anyone have any suggestions for a dog friendly lunch stop on the way to Cornwall? I do appreciate that not everyone likes dogs but I'm mighty tired of reading that 'Yes, we love dogs BUT they can't come inside. We will provide bowls of water on our outdoor terrace'! In December!

The Blue Ball at Clyst St. Mary.
For humans it has to be the fish on the menu. If the dog needs proper running exercise you need to proceed a little way onto the common afterwards.

Whatever you do, avoid the Little Chef on the A30. Not because it is not dog friendly but because DH got food poisoning there on our way to Somerset for Christmas 6 years ago.
A DH with food poisoning was bad enough, but I would not have wanted to cope with a dog with similar symptoms. ???

Just thought of another nice dog friendly one the other side of the motorway junction .... the Ley Arms in Kenn.

Woodleigh Coach House Cafe - just outside Exeter near Cheriton Bishop A30 turnoff. Look up on Trip Advisor for details.

Just off the motorway at Junction 22 on M5 is Sanders garden centre. The garden centre is dog friendly and there are 3/4 tables just outside their cafe (but inside the building) that are specifically for dog owners

I would like to suggest you try the Ley Arms at Kenn just outside Exeter. My step-daughter and step-son have had the place for some years now and have an excellent local reputation. Whatever you decide, have a good journey.

Thank you very much everyone. You've given me plenty to investigate.
