Anyone else addicted to this programme ? . I am really enjoying it. The funny thing is that we had a holiday in the Damson Dene ( the hotel in question) about 20 years ago. It was supposed to be a romantic interlude for the two of us but I just love hot tubs and that was my downfall. I had to ask them to swtich it on and it did look a bit cloudy but I was in it every day until I came out in the most terrible row of large spots. They were just along my bra line and were so painful. I went to the GP when I got home and she said it looked like bubonic plague . I have since learnt that it is something you get from dirty hot tubs .
This last week they had guests who reported that someone was in their room using their shower. When the staff eventually broke into the bathroom the shower was on but nobody was there. I thought that they could have given some explanation for this but it was never mentioned. The couple whose room it was had been talking to the staff about their faith and I wonder if they had upset someone . Who else but staff could have done it ?

I too love The Hotel. My favourite member of staff is Amos. He tries so hard but everything goes wrong! I was pleased that in this week's show he was assured of keeping his job.It sounds like he has had a hard life so far,and deserves a break.

I wish the manager would re-phrase what he is trying to tell his foreign staff instead of just repeating the words they have not understood.( I find this helps for the hard of hearing as well).

Does anyone recognise the owner from another programme? I can't place him, but it was probably a reality show such as Come Dine With Me . It bugs me every time I see him.

I really enjoy The Hotel! Like you, I have a soft spot for Amos! I think the manager seems to be really good at his job - although now and again, he tends to grit his teeth a bit...and repeat the same phrases over and over, which can't help the worried staff member. What does puzzle me is why there is a pig-sty right next door to his caravan. Would it not smell awful to live there, and whose pigs are they, anyway?!!!

We went to the Damson Dene a few christmas's ago with a group of friend's who we dont see very often for a Christmas party, it is sometimes the only chance we can get together.

We found it to be a bit like faulty towers, the lights went out the first night and we were all sat in candle light. The bedroom we had was so small you could almost sit in the bedroom when you were on the loo, the bathroom had a sliding door, you had to breath in to close it!

Our weekend was the funniest we have had for a long time, you had to laugh!

Cant think that I saw a caravan, but may have been laughing too much!

I think the owner was in that program for old country house/estates where the blond lady comes and tells them how make money from the estate, dont know what it was called, seem to remember he always had a pastel wool jumper on and he just would not listen to her suggestions and deadlines he was given.

Thay would be Country House Rescue with Ruth Watson. I still can't picture it , but thanks for clearing it up for me.

I think Faulty Towers sums it up!

A friend of mine who worked in a hotel for many years loves this programme as I do. She said it's a very 'tired' hotel and you can tell by the decor and general shabbiness of the place. No one has ever said what the food is like, I do like it that dogs are welcome. It is very like Fawlty Towers without Basil and Sybil though, mind you it looks as if it was last decorated then. I love Amos and the Romanian couple, Wayne the manager is far too aware of the cameras and the owner seems away with fairies.

Loved this programme too, thought the Manager was great, as was the eccentric owner. Addictive tv.
