I have just set up Net Plus for my Mum, I searched the best deal on Moneysupermarket for the best deal, but the feedback I had on Talk Talk was terrible and wouldnt touch them with a barge pole but dont know about the other.

My daughter has Talk Talk Glass and hasn't had any problems at all yet.

She just got a free YouView box from them too which she is thrilled with.

I have friends who have had loads of bother with them, I think its when you need to contact them.

Son had problems with Talk Talk. I read that Plusnet is owned by BT but cheaper and just as good. We swapped from Virgin to BT because of price and then discovered that we had to pay a lot more for unlimited so do check what you get before signing up. (DH did it not me grin) As soon as our contract runs out we will research them all again but at the moment Plusnet seems the best. Good luck. Perhaps you can let us know what you choose?

It was cheaper to have your phone through Plus net than with BT move

I will let you know it wont be for a couple of weeks I am changing from Sky.

I went on to the Moneysupermarket.com and they recommended
Talk Talk I will steer clear of them.

you are right Glassor its when you have problems they don't want to know,
and that can be so stressful

We have had Plusnet for 2 years and are very satisfied. One good thing is that their help line is based in Yorkshire. We used to be with AOL and got fed up conversing with people in faraway places, having to ask them to repeat what they were saying 3 or 4 times - it was embarrassing!!
We're on the basic tariff, as we don't download much from the internet, and it's very reasonable.

gangy5 what do you get with the basic tariff, and how much does it cost a month, I don't have a mobile phone, thank you

I was considering a change of ISP, and Plusnet looked to be a good bet.
But then Demon, my long-time supplier, changed me on to ADSL2+, which is twice as fast as my previous connection, so I'm staying put.

These are our costs for home phone and broadband. I think you can even get it cheaper if you join up now.
This is how the bill is itemised:-

Plusnet value charge £6.49

Talk anytime £11.99 (not sure that you can get this anymore) only evenings and weekends

Call plan charge £3.50

Total £21.98 per month.

Don't forget that when they advertise cheap prices the line rental hasn't been added on and that can be £10+
