I don't watch much television but the archaeology programme on BBC4 is a must for me.
When I switched on at 9.00pm last evening, I found that it had been pulled. It was replaced with a repeat of a programme about Flinders Petrie, very interesting, but I had seen it before.
On investigation I found that the BBC pulled at the last minute saying that it was 'an editorial misfit'. The programme was made by an Israeli film maker and explores the archaelogy around the expulsion of the Jews from Israel.
Now, I've no idea how sound is the archaeology, or his hypothesis that the expulsion never happened, but I would have liked the opportunity to evaluate it myself.
The BBC vehemently defended its screening of the programme about North Korea but this one disappeared.
I'm wondering why.
