Anyone still watching? Not sure I will be after last night's travesty. Talk about Paul Hollywood's favouritism. Won't give anything away in case some of you watch on catch up.

Liam ?

mcem Wed 18-Oct-17 10:08:42

Won't be the same without him!

Flossieturner Wed 18-Oct-17 10:14:07

I am still watching, but getting very frustrated at the things they are asked to cook. All the bakers are coming accross as incompetent because they are not given Enough time with things that are unfamiliar. Nothing last night looked edible. Please can we have some proper food.

KatyK Wed 18-Oct-17 10:35:57

I don't usually watch it but there was nothing else on so I watched. I agree with you suzied - blatant favouritism.

ninathenana Wed 18-Oct-17 11:22:04

I watched snippets whilst the adds were on. (Watched Ben Fogle)
I have no idea of names as haven't followed this series but the black guys cacke looked like a child had made it. (sorry only way to distinguish him) I liked the one with the chocolate flower on top.

ninathenana Wed 18-Oct-17 11:23:33

Oops sorry but his cake was cacke grin

It's time to be honest and say that this prog is an absolute flop! Juvenile! Not in the same league as the original.

lovebeigecardigans1955 Wed 18-Oct-17 12:41:31

I can't understand why Liam had to go as others' efforts were just as bad. My sister has a particular 'unfavourite' and so far she texts me afterwards with, ' so-and-so survives again - why?'
I think that the programme is much the same as it always was - maybe it's getting a bit stale - no pun intended.

Imperfect27 Wed 18-Oct-17 13:11:40

Just me, or does anyone else notice the way Paul interacts with Stephen is a bit different? The looks and comments are all a bit sickly and smack of favouritism ...

merlotgran Wed 18-Oct-17 13:20:17

Yes. We often comment on it, Imperfect.

It's a shame lovely Liam has gone but his show stopper really was a disaaaaaaaarster.

What on earth was that oven door thing all about? I also think the 'dropping a clanger' moment was staged. hmm

Jane10 Wed 18-Oct-17 13:40:54

Well I still enjoy the programme. I actually think it's much better than it was. I like the Jo Brand spin off too.

Imperfect27 Wed 18-Oct-17 14:20:08

I think the Jo Brand spin off has actually improved. I am gradually warming to the new show and I like this year's bunch of contestants. I just can't stand Paul Hollywood.

I had to move over to Channel 4 - as I love the programme too much to stop watching. I miss Mel and Sue but its still too good to miss. I think they have a problem this year as Steven is just technically better than most of the others - each week I worry cos I dont want him getting Star Baker each time. The 'weird' bakes are obviously to keep the programme fresh and it does really test them

LadyGracie Thu 19-Oct-17 10:55:14

I don’t think Liam should have gone this week, there were others worse than him this week, the girl with the Liver building for one!

suzied Thu 19-Oct-17 11:00:16

Was she the one that dropped her clanger?

LadyGracie Thu 19-Oct-17 11:08:19

Yes she was, she seems to have more disasters than the others.

Craicon Thu 19-Oct-17 11:09:02

Liam definitely shouldn't have gone. It should have been Clanger Kate. She's been in the bottom two a few times but always manages to stay in.
Ridiculous decision.
And Stacey getting Star Baker?
What were they thinking?
The showstopper looked pretty dreadful.
