What is happening to Endeavour ? Is he out completely now.
Kalu has many on my list as well.
Vera is good. I have no idea how old Brenda Blethin is in real life.
I still like Lewis and miss Morse, the grumpy old git.

I quite like Granchester. Its growing on me. Its going in a different direction.
I watch too much TV .

It’s Brenda Blethin’s birthday this month and she will be 73.

I've never watched Vera and I'm most put out that this coming Friday they have taken a Coronation Street off to show a two hour episode of Vera.

I have been trying to find out what the background music to the Vera trailer is. It’s cello music but can’t seem to identify it. They only play a few bars. It’s nagging at me!

I think it was composed for the series greyduster

A bit more about the composer though it doesn’t mention the Vera tune.

Bit ? doesn't take much!
I thought this series of Vera had finished.

Greyduster Sun 17-Feb-19 12:32:09

janea I didn’t mean that music, but the music in the “feminist” advert that trailed Itv drama. It sounded like a bit of Elgar but I can’t dig it up anywhere. Thanks for replying, anyway! I’m sure I’ll get it out of my head soon!

Oh you’ve got me curious now gd!
We record Vera and watch it when we feel
like it so I haven’t heard the advert!

I recently heard that Brenda Blethin is from Ramsgate in Kent. I always thought she was from Newcastle way....or is that Vera? And yes, she should have retired years ago but glad she hasn’t. Always enjoyable.

I’ve been watching what I assume are repeats of Vera on ITV3, mainly for the scenery but I find it very dreary and depressing. I’m currently watching it with the sound off….

There is a new series starting next week.

A Vera fan here too, but as a local - her accent just isn’t right, pet. It’s not bad, but just not right. Love the locations - again we know that crossing the Tyne Bridge doesn’t lead to the coast in 5 minutes, but it’s ‘poetic license’. In an old series, I believe she was diagnosed with angina, so perhaps that explains her difficulty on certain terrain-maybe that could become more important in future?
Still keen to see the new series though.

I love Vera but as a local I would go further and say the accent is awful, it's completely distracting sometimes.

DillytheGardener Sun 29-Aug-21 08:36:37

I love Vera, I’m so pleased a new series is starting. I’ve not had any new crime dramas to watch recently, I need my fix!
I always find it strange that I find these crime dramas so relaxing.
