Haven't got Netflixsad. I'll have to wait.

What I particularly love about this prog is the attention to period detail.

The part where McMillan was being satirised in the theatre was brilliant.

And did anyone notice the episode where Margaret went to the party where there was a jazz ensemble? The pianist was introduced as "Dudley"....surely Dudley Moore?

(As well as being a comedian Moore was a gifted jazz pianist).

I'm grateful to my son for setting up Netflix for us, he subscribes we don't, although we haven't watched an awful lot of programmes other than "The Crown" which has been wonderful. I am looking forward to Season 3 with the changeover cast, Claire Foy and Matt Smith have set a high bar, although the new cast I'm sure will rise to that challenge.

Binge watching the crown now as we’ve just got Netflix. I’m hooked can’t wait to get through it!

I enjoyed Series 1 and 2 and thought it historically accurate (as far as I know).

Not looking forward to OC as Queenie though. Overrated and ubiquitous.

Really looking forward to series 3 but DH and I also find Olivia Coleman annoying. There are much better actresses out there who would have fitted the bill perfectly. I always find that the only person she can play is Olivia Coleman. That said we will be watching Series 3 and trying to get past our irritations. We loved series 1 and 2 and binge watched these.

There is something about Olivia Coleman that grates on me especially her acceptance speech/performance at The Oscars which some found endearing and I found cringeworthy. Claire Foy was wonderful and so was Matt Smith as Prince Phillip. The actress who played Princess Margaret was very good too. I think I read somewhere that Gillian Anderson plays Margaret Thatcher. I am looking forward to watching something decent which is getting more difficult for me.

Agree about Olivia Coleman. Hopefully she'll grow on me because I did love Claire Foye as the Queen.

I can’t stand Olivia Coleman and I think she’s been incredibly lucky with the roles she’s been offered compared to far more talented actresses. Maybe she has a better agent?
She has the same simpering annoying expressions in every character she plays.
I did enjoy Claire Foy in the role as Queen but I’ll probably give the latest series a miss.

I have only recently got into the Crown and I am loving it. I have just started watching series 2.
Series 3 comes out 17 November.

Me too loved The Crown and have watched it through 3 times. We have started Downton as we didn't watch it before in advance of the film release.
For a docu/drama in similar vein try The Last Tsars on Netflix- brilliantly acted and narrated with real time footage.

I binge-watched series 1 and 2 over the BH weekend and felt quite bereft when I got to the end. But I don’t have Netflix so Series 3 may have to wait - or maybe not.......

Can't wait! This series was so good.

I’ve just acquired Netflix and have watched the first 2 series back to back. I’m really looking forward to the 3rd in November. I may save it up and watch it all in one sitting!

Looking forward to it, hope the new series is as good as previous ones.
Wouldn’t it be good if it includes Mr Epstein

BlueSapphire Sun 01-Sep-19 08:21:30

I still have one episode of series 2 to watch; in fact I watched episode 9 last night as there was nothing else on tv, and am really looking forward to the next series. I think Olivia Colman will be brilliant.

Love it, hope it's as good as before.

I think OC will make an excellent queen. Looking forward to the new series too.

Can’t wait! Me and DD2 are addicted

Read in my tv mag that the new series starts in November. This time with Oliva Coleman. Think i may re watch the previous series to refresh my mind before the long awaited new one starts.
