Oh dear , really sad to hear about Gary Rhodes death this morning . Only last week I googled him wondering where he was now - living and working in Dubai . I loved his style and spiky hair .

Oh dear, no i have not heard or seen anything about this, he wasn't very old was he?

I just read about that too.
I have a funny feeling that I read somewhere some time ago that he had been diagnosed with cancer, but I may be wrong.
He was on TV when I returned to UK from Australia. He changed the whole idea of cooking on TV with his hairstyle and the way he did things and described food.
A great loss. Condolences to his family and friends around the world.

His creamed cabbage is a regular part of my repertoire.

I think he was 59.

RIP

I liked him on television and wondered where he had gone.
I'm sorry to hear of his untimely death at only 59.

That is very sad, he was no age at all!

I used to enjoy his programmes and his gentle, soothing voice.

RIP Gary

That's sad. He did a cookery day at our daughter's school and we also saw him at Taste in Regents Park. Always thought he was a fun chef.

I met him once. He was lovely. Rumour has it that he had a fall, although it's not confirmed. RIP Gary.

What caused his death?

AllTheLs Wed 27-Nov-19 11:25:53

That is sad - was quite surprised to hear it as I hadn't heard he was ill.

He was one of my favourite TV chefs, l would often ask for his latest cook book for my Birthday present, his Batter recipe was the best l ever made for deep frying Fish and Sausages.

We did have a laugh though at his menu onboard a P&O cruise ship, every dish on offer apart from desserts contained Peas, he must have grabbed a bulk buy offer at the wholesalers that week!
