Elizabethan England's relations with the Muslim World

I'm listening to a recording of David Jacobi reading from a book written by Prof Jerry Brotton entitled "This Orient isle".
I'm finding it a fascinating account of trade and cultural relations with the Middle East. Apparently the word Muslim was unknown then. The author quotes from contemporary sources about the benefits and problems of trade and also from people complaining about immigrants.

The book was published in 2016 and although comparisons with today are not spelt out it did remind me of England now.
