So many programmes, so few I have heard of or ever watched.

Except - congratulations Charlie Cooper!

All Double Dutch to me too. Except the Country Life one.

I can’t afford to subscribe to lots of channels so seem to miss a lot of things.

Once upon a time you could watch these TV awards ceremonies and know what they are talking about. As has been said, many of the programmes mentioned are on pay for channels.

I still think the BBC and Channel 4 produce lots of good programmes and Netflix is overrated.

I was surprised, though, to see I May Destroy You winning two main prizes. I ploughed my way through this drama because it had been praised so highly. I found it rather unpleasant and very confusing. It was difficult to work out what was happening/had happened and what was all in Arabella's imagination/daydream. I much preferred Small Axe.

I was really looking forward to seeing The Beast Must Die as Jared Harris is my favourite actors and it’s been well publicised, only to find itself on Beatbox or something. I feel the same about films that win Oscars but don’t go on general release. I’d be quite happy to pay for one channel but I can’t afford lots of them. Can’t even get to buy a lot of them on dvd for a long long time egRoma.

I just wonder why they had that guy (sorry, can't remember his name) as the compere?
I don't find him remotely funny and some of his so called jokes were, I thought, quite offensive.
TBH, I found it quite boring even though I usually enjoy awards ceremonies and changed channel after about 30 minutes.
Did Ant and Dec win anything ???

I did watch I May Destroy You, Camilla Long reviewed it in The Sunday Times and raved about it, so I thought I'd give it a go. I didn't much like at first but it grew on me as it progressed, I must admit I thought it was very different, but definitely quite Marmite, my husband scrabbling around trying to find something to watch the other night asked me if I thought he'd like it, "No! you won't" was my response. I think the writer and actress, Micheala Coel, is talented and glad she won an award.

Similarly I loved This Country glad to see Charlie Cooper got one, his sister, the wonderful Daisy Mae should have got one too.

I didn't watch the BAFTAS I can't be bothered with award ceremonies increasingly finding all the gushing. weeping not to mention sometimes awful speeches from the winners boring!

Oh I meant to add, am inclined to agree with Eloethan. At times I find both Prime and Neflix overrated. I wonder whether I'm alone in starting series on both those sites and then losing interest after several episodes and not bothering to finish them.

Oh I love him. Are you not a fan of The IT Crowd?

We watched it because a young member of the family had her name on a production list. However, the whole programme was a diabolical bore. The chap introducing it was a flop and as said many of the things showing were not seen by us as we apparently haven’t got sky Atlantic etc. We obviously are too old to appreciate it so I should shut up.

Terribull You are not alone in starting several Netflix series and abandoning them. I find most of the series quite superficial and tacky - Ozark, and I think The Stranger, was on Netflix too - awful junk, unpleasant characters. Though I did quite like a fairly superficial and light hearted series called Five Bedrooms.
