More good news for the family.

Rosalyn69 Tue 16-Mar-21 11:00:36

Good news but the picture I saw - he really doesn’t look at all well. I hope it’s not that they can’t do anything else for him.

Anniebach Tue 16-Mar-21 11:02:34

His family needs good news, I hope he is on the mend

Smileless2012 Tue 16-Mar-21 11:02:57

No he doesn't look well I agree but at least he'll be reunited with his wife. For a man of his age recovery is going to take some time.

Anniebach Tue 16-Mar-21 11:03:39

Oh, just saw the picture on the news, did they have to

LauraNorder Tue 16-Mar-21 11:04:29

Good news for the family.

Really? Did he walk out? That's good news.

Mollygo Tue 16-Mar-21 11:12:10

Good news. It’s been a worrying time for them. I hope he continues to get better.

Did he not move to Sandringham when he retired , then moved to Windsor for lockdown

maddyone Tue 16-Mar-21 11:43:00

The Queen and Prince Philip have been living together in an apartment in Windsor Castle, ever since the Covid pandemic began. They have been looked after by a reduced number of staff who live in. When they have time off and go home, they have to quarantine before they take up their duties again.

Alegrias1 Tue 16-Mar-21 11:44:38

I came on this thread to say that this was good news, but within the first half an hour of this becoming public we've had posts saying he might be at death's door and then a discussion about his private life. Not, apparently, that he's allowed to have one.

I'm pleased he's out of hospital and I hope he's already back at Windsor with his wife.

Anniebach

Yes Annie, you’re correct. Philip retired to a cottage on the Sandringham estate, where he had a very small number of staff to care for him. When lockdown was announced both Philip and the the Queen moved to an apartment in Windsor Castle.

FannyCornforth Tue 16-Mar-21 11:48:57

I don't think that my comment was offensive Alegrias
Thank you for that information Maddy

Anniebach Tue 16-Mar-21 11:51:21

Yes maddyone and at Sandringham he would have been near to his grandson and family . He did go to Balmoral when the Queen and family went there.

Buck house is a very large workplace.

Good for him. I must admit, some of you possess impressive knowledge of the RF, I had no clue they lived separately in normal circumstances.

Alegrias1 Tue 16-Mar-21 11:55:22

No Fanny, not offensive. Just inappropriate and distasteful.

dahville Tue 16-Mar-21 11:55:27

Why didn’t they send a car with darkly tinted windows? Why myst they put him on display like that? It is undignified. He doesn’t look well and should be allowed his privacy. I wish the papers wouldn’t publish those photos.

I am not a RF fan but I think taking photos of an almost 100yo man who has just left hospital after surgery and lengthy stay is a pretty poor show. It says they put screens up to get him to the car privately, so why not respect that.

Poor old thing looks so ill. It's not nice showing pics like this. I felt the same when Princess Margaret was so ill in a wheelchair.
He hasn't aged as well as Captain Tom did bless him.
I can only hope PP reaches the 100 mark. I wish him well.

Not a bad age for either though.

FannyCornforth Tue 16-Mar-21 12:08:37

Jane I haven't seen the photos, but you are quite right
