News flash just now but she says she feels really well and she looks it.

Starting chemo soon. The abdominal surgery found cancer.

Maybe now people will stop hounding her and let her heal in private,

I just watched Catherine speaking on tv. A worrying time for her and her family. She was very positive. I wish her well.

Smileless2012 Fri 22-Mar-24 18:10:04

Let's hope so Bridie. What a terrible shock.

Marydoll Fri 22-Mar-24 18:10:59

I hope all the speculating on GN will now stop.
It is a pity that she had to come out with a statement about her health. The whole thing has been so intrusive.

OldFrill Fri 22-Mar-24 18:12:03

If you'd just paused for breath before posting you might have got the facts right. She started chemo last month.

Yes, let us hope so. She needs peace and a quiet time away from the intrusion of the press.

I was very sorry to hear this news and hope Catherine responds well to treatment, which can be gruelling, and that she makes a full recovery.

Poor lady. I wish her well.

tickingbird Fri 22-Mar-24 18:18:40

What a shock. All this nonsense about fiddling with a quite ordinary photograph and vile speculation about the state of her marriage. I feel so sorry for her.

I wish her the very best and hope she is now left alone to deal with the chemo and rest with her family.

Calipso Fri 22-Mar-24 18:20:24

Primrose53 I can't agree that she looks well. She looks so thin and pale and no surprise after the harrowing time they have had at the hands of the media. I hope they are all hanging their heads in shame. She has handled this with great dignity as she does with everything.

maddyone Fri 22-Mar-24 18:22:47

I feel for her. I got tears in my eyes listening to her on BBC news. She’s about the same age as my daughter and her children are similar ages too. I hope the media, especially in America, will leave her alone now.

Casdon Fri 22-Mar-24 18:22:48

I hope she makes a full and speedy recovery. It would be great if we could all set an example on Gransnet now and stop the constant sensationalising and speculation about every move she makes.

Georgesgran Fri 22-Mar-24 18:26:19

I’m genuinely shocked to hear this news.
I just wish her well for her treatment and that the family be left alone now.

BlueBelle Fri 22-Mar-24 18:26:38

I m no royalist but I shed a tear for her too
I hope she responds well to the chemo and can get back to a normal mum and wife in the near future

Patsy70 Fri 22-Mar-24 18:27:27

Casdon. Yes, let us hope so. The heading is incorrect, so that should be rectified Primrose53.

I too shed a tear watching the video.I thought she was very brave, it must have been very hard for her.I hope she has a full recovery.

Everyone needs to leave her be now.

Perhaps now the media can stop their speculation and vitriol that they have relentlessly dished out to this poor woman. They should be hanging their heads in shame.

Summerlove Fri 22-Mar-24 18:48:49

How very sad. I wish her a speedy recovery.

Still doesn’t change the fact that KP really screwed the pooch with the pr disaster they managed. Sweeping that under the rug sets a dangerous precedent for the future.

dragonfly46 Fri 22-Mar-24 18:49:27

I was very shocked and saddened to hear this. As someone who has had cancer I know how she must be feeling.

Galaxy Fri 22-Mar-24 18:53:08

This is what happens if you put people in this position, forgetting the rights and wrongs of a royal family it's just deeply problematic for the people within it.

ronib Fri 22-Mar-24 18:54:49

A very dignified and upbeat statement from the Princess of Wales and very supportive of other cancer patients too. Let’s hope the cancer has been caught in the early stages and she will be restored to full health soon. A real example to us all. So sad too.
