First, how should one pronounce that?

Second, someone has apparently "misrepresented herself as black". So what? I couldn't establish from what I've read so far why this is deemed to be important.

Ana Fri 12-Jun-15 16:50:27

If what the parents say is true, she does seem to have given a misleading account of her heritage and upbringing.

They're saying her position was gained through merit not race, but there will be a lot of very angry people out for her blood, because people don't like being deliberately deceived.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 12-Jun-15 16:51:45

She has got to be a very messed up person. Weird.

Mishap Fri 12-Jun-15 18:07:59

Not a happy lady - she has an "ongoing lawsuit" with her parents. Rather sad really. Perhaps she is a little "by-blow" and no-one wants to claim paternity. Or perhaps she is just a crazy mixed up lady.

loopylou Fri 12-Jun-15 18:25:22

Or perhaps she's insecure and wants recognition (but is definitely not attracting the right sort of attention now), sad if she feels it necessary to lie so publicly.

soontobe Fri 12-Jun-15 19:40:39

From that article, she appears to have lied a lot. Not exactly a person who can be trusted.

Brit has started a Twitter campaign in support of #wrongskin people. Chuckle.

Waits for black folk to 'identify' as white....

BiNtHeReDuNiT14 Sat 13-Jun-15 07:20:44

I wonder, as parents talk of her adopted siblings, if she herself was adopted and she maybe had a mixed up childhood? She is obviously a very clever lady.

absent Sat 13-Jun-15 07:33:26

Apparently she was not adopted and her parents have displayed her birth certificate and a number of photographs of her as a child on television and elsewhere. The adopted children in the family (four of them, I think) are black and so was her husband. She has some very strange hairstyles.

jinglbellsfrocks Sat 13-Jun-15 10:04:38

In 'actives' I keep thinking this is a drug someone is enquiring about! grin

trisher Sat 13-Jun-15 10:17:05

Very odd, she is in a legal dispute with her parents and she now has full custody of her adopted brother, Iziah. Not the happiest family then. It would seem both parties have a very strange background and may be trying to influence the legal decision.

vampirequeen Sat 13-Jun-15 10:19:32

How strange.

sunseeker Sat 13-Jun-15 11:11:56

I am uncomfortable with the fact that she has lied to everyone, was it necessary for her to pretend to be black in order to get the job she has? If she is good at the job then her colour is of no consequence. As her adopted siblings are black perhaps she identified with them rather than white children but I think by lying she is not doing anyone any favours.

loopylou Sat 13-Jun-15 11:15:12

So do I jingl

Apparently she was blond and fair skinned as a child so even weirded that she thought she'd get away with the claims?

loopylou Sat 13-Jun-15 11:15:56

weirded?

Must be the rain!

petallus Sat 13-Jun-15 11:32:12

Mean parents!

petallus Sat 13-Jun-15 11:32:44

If we are prepared to tolerate people redefining their gender, why not their race?

petallus Sat 13-Jun-15 11:33:10

Maybe she feels a person of colour inside!

Ana Sat 13-Jun-15 11:35:04

Did you look at bags's link of 6.38 petallus?

soontobe Sat 13-Jun-15 12:17:55

May be the woman has many ancestors that were black.

Even if she does, that is no reason to repeatedly lie.

Soutra Sat 13-Jun-15 13:29:30

I don't think so SoontoBe!! I think her ancestors were white Anglo-Saxon, although if you go back far enough aren't we all descended from a common ancestor from Africa? <off to Google "her" name >

Soutra Sat 13-Jun-15 13:38:30

Lucy

loopylou Sat 13-Jun-15 13:42:34

She apparently had some American Indian blood too.

Ana Sat 13-Jun-15 13:45:21

"traces of Native American ancestry" according to the parents.
But mostly German and Czech.
