Greatnan Mon 10-Sept-12 23:23:26

We look forward to having you back, Gally.
Anno is leaving here tomorrow - we have had a splendid week and the weather has been wonderful. I will miss her company.

whenim64 Mon 10-Sept-12 23:40:41

Have a safe journey home Anno. Sounds like you have both had a great week together smile

Gally Mon 10-Sept-12 23:57:31

Thank you - I shall look forward to being back on the same time as you! I leave here tomorrow (wednesday) at your 5 am so back at Heathrow early on thursday morning - I hear rain is on the cards - there's a surprise grin Mixed emotions; I have just been having a wonderful cuddle with Harriet who was gurgling and laughing at the tears running down my face. She is the most beautiful baby and of course I will miss the others too (but not the constant shouting and tantruming hmm).
Anno and Great it sounds as if you've had a wonderful time together - safe flight home

Morning all, it's a gloomy wet morning here in Cheshire, but my dgd is coming whilst her mum goes to work for a half day, so I shall have lots of cuddles smile brew

glassortwo Tue 11-Sept-12 07:37:40

gally & anno safe journey home. ella enjoy your cuddles, its wet and miserable here today too.

whenim64 Tue 11-Sept-12 07:46:07

Morning everyone. Pouring down here but I have just been for a walk with the dog, and the air is so fresh and clean that it didn't matter that we got wet through. Today, my daughter and I are taking the girlies for their develomental check-up. Can't beleve they will be one next month. Yesterday, we had a lovely spending spree on baby clothes and birthday presents. They laughed and babbled all the way round the shopping centre. Great fun! grin

Nanadogsbody Tue 11-Sept-12 08:30:19

Morning everyone. Today I've got two 2-year olds and a 15 month old to look after. Happy days! grin hmm

Marelli Tue 11-Sept-12 08:59:45

What a good idea it was of Ella's to open the window and let some fresh air in - just what the doctor ordered! Today, I'll be meeting Grandmanorm for coffee! My 'lurking' GN friend will also be coming (trying to get her to post something)!
Gally have a a safe journey home - it'll be lovely to see you again!
Annodomini - what a lovely time you'll have had! Safe journey to you, too.

whenim64 Tue 11-Sept-12 09:07:35

Marelli yes, that was a good idea and great timing. Have a fabulous time today, and hello to all anonymous Gransnetters who are lurking. Come on in - you don't have to go in at the deep end (I hesitate to recommend the 'shallow' end - you know what I mean) grin

Elegran Tue 11-Sept-12 09:55:21

Morning all. Well done opening the window and reminding us that this quiet place is here, a retreat from the quarrels which seem to be going on at the moment.

soop Tue 11-Sept-12 15:29:43

I lay awake in the early hours and thought about the pleasant times I've spent in the Quiet Corner. For whatever reason, I spread my wings and have tried to be more adventurous by dipping into very different threads. From hereon, I hope to visit this corner regularly. Just now, I'm feeling calm inside.
It will be so good to have Gally back.
Nansdogsbody ...respect! You really are a champ.
Safe travels Anno. Bet you've had fun-times with Greatnan

It's very blustery in Kintyre. There are big white-topped waves on the sea.

My friend reported seeing the wee feral ginger kitten [the same that a passing motorist spotted on Sunday.] She thinks that it must be about 2 months old. Rory is out again. It wouldn't surprise me, to see him with the kitten - in our garden - sometime soon. hmm

May I have fruit tea please? I don't drink 'real' tea and it is too late in the day for coffee. No shortbread thanks, trying to lose weight.

Movedalot Tue 11-Sept-12 16:02:15

Oops done that thing where you think its a new post and put this on after only reading first page. Sorry, obviously should have had more coffee!

soop Tue 11-Sept-12 16:11:12

Movedalot It's okay. You're allowed to wander. Would you like a lemon & ginger tea? If you're not fussed about the shortbread, I'll eat yours. Can't let good food go to waist waste!

Littlenellie Tue 11-Sept-12 16:20:02

Budge up is there room for a litttle'un ? I will have what ever is going smile

soop Tue 11-Sept-12 16:28:51

AH!!! If it isn't sweet, innocent Nellie...come and park your backside on this comfy sofa. Would you like a slice of fruit cake?

Littlenellie Tue 11-Sept-12 16:35:09

That would be lovely thanks soop pleased to. make your acquaintance movedalothow is every one today

Fruit cake looks lovely..

Movedalot Tue 11-Sept-12 16:49:01

Thanks soop must have been another senior moment.

Ariadne Tue 11-Sept-12 17:09:59

Mmmm, peace and quiet. Hello, everyone - I'll just put my feet up for a while. Oh, that's nice. We're packing and dismantling and DH is still in list heaven, dealing with things bless him - "It's all falling into place, you know" beaming beatifically.

We have a farewell dinner every night this week, which is lovely but I really must pace myself and not have too much to eat or drink. But maybe I'll work it off during the day...

soop Tue 11-Sept-12 17:17:20

Ariadne I'm grinning for you. Happy days! How lovely for you.
Mr soop has just called me to look out the bedroom window. Guess what? The weeny ginger kitten is nosing around Rory's apartment. He is absent. The camera is at the ready. It really is an adorble creature. We guess about 2 months old. Is it possible for a ginger kit to be female? If so, we're going to have to trap her. She'll need to be spayed. Otherwise, Rory will be mating with her just as soon as he gets a chance. If I get a photo, I'll upload and share it with you.

Ella46 Tue 11-Sept-12 19:32:17

I've just come for a restful brew and a large slice of virtual cake!
I'm shattered after dgd has been with me all day. Nanadog you deserve a medal, a large wine and a spa day! I don't know how you do it!!

soop why wouldn't a ginger kit be female, are the rules different in Scotland? grin

JO4 Tue 11-Sept-12 19:44:20

grin I thought that Ella, but I'm not allowed to talk to soop.

Marelli Tue 11-Sept-12 19:45:19

Are you still awake, Nanadog - or are you flat out on the sofa? You'll sleep well tonight! smile
Ella, ginger cats tend to be toms, and I think marmalade tabbies are mainly female. No idea why, though! confused

Anagram Tue 11-Sept-12 19:49:34

I Googled this out of interest, and apparently ginger males outnumber females 3 to 1, and tortoiseshell cats are nearly always female!
