I've just made this chocolate cake if anyone wants to share it? cupcake I'm going to have a nice cup of brew and then go and watch the Great British Bake Off, which is one of my favourite programmes. smile

Been a busy day. Babies passed their checkup at the baby clinic with flying colours and Alice obliged by weeing all over the health visitor's desk when being weighed. We did say she had been too long without her nappy on! blush grin

Marelli Tue 11-Sept-12 19:52:26

grin, when! Happy days, indeed!

Ella46 Tue 11-Sept-12 19:54:32

when grin grin

Marelli and Ana thank you, that's interesting.

Nanadogsbody Tue 11-Sept-12 19:56:21

Hi marelli thanks for asking and ella for the suggestion. Chance if a spa day would be wonderful.

Yes, I'm flat our on sofa with my second G&T! It will be a regular thing on a Tuesday. I confess I enlisted MrDogs to help but to be honest not sure that was a good idea as he's a bit gaga. hmm

Nanadogsbody Tue 11-Sept-12 19:58:56

when that's cruel. I could just murder a piece of chocolate cake.

Notsogrand Tue 11-Sept-12 21:47:08

Lovely to be back in the corner. All peaceful and no squabbles. smile

When, could you fax me a big slice of chocolate cake please?

whenim64 Tue 11-Sept-12 21:55:50

On its way notso. I've put some jersey thick cream with it, just in case......!grin

Notsogrand Tue 11-Sept-12 22:21:06

Mmm. Thanks when. I've had a couple of weeks of real indulgences so from now on, only virtual ones are allowed. The thick jersey cream is a perfect addition to your cake. smile

Anagram Tue 11-Sept-12 22:29:14

What a lovely, peaceful day it's been! sunshine
The nights are drawing in though....brew

Nanadogsbody Tue 11-Sept-12 22:54:49

They certainly are Anag. The chucks took themselves to bed at 7.00pm.

Ella46 Wed 12-Sept-12 07:10:07

Good morning everyone, a chilly damp day here- winter drawers on soon methinks grin
I'm off to my exercise class this morning and no doubt the joints will be complaining about the weather too!

Notsogrand Wed 12-Sept-12 07:56:41

I wore my winter PJs to bed last night Ella, but I stayed up a bit later than Nannadogs chucks grin

Ella46 Wed 12-Sept-12 08:42:37

notso It's not autumn until I wear my vest! grin

Nanadogsbody Wed 12-Sept-12 08:51:39

Distinct chill in the air and very autumnal when I let the chucks out at 6.00 pm. In fact Mimi (the old chuck) was still in nesting box.

annodomini Wed 12-Sept-12 09:07:16

It's autumn when I put my sandals away and seek out my socks - in which case it's been autumn on and off for a good three months. grin

Littlenellie Wed 12-Sept-12 09:12:47

Temps has dropped 10 degrees in Norfolk this morning....socks and boots methinks ...can some one tell me why in the midst of a raging hot flush why my feet are still freezing cold...if only my head and feet could change places grin

Greatnan Wed 12-Sept-12 09:14:44

My flat is strangely quiet this morning! It was so nice to be able to chat for hours on our drives around the Alps - now it is back to 'chatting' on line.

Ella46 Wed 12-Sept-12 09:16:51

After a totally event free menopause, now at 66 I have been getting steadily hotter and hotter the last few months!
I fully expect to self combust around Bonfire night!

The bonus of course is that the heating hasn't been on for months!

Littlenellie Wed 12-Sept-12 09:21:01

We will keep you company greatnan glad you and anno had a good time xx

Greatnan Wed 12-Sept-12 09:23:24

Thank you, nellie! Ella - I am sorry to tell you that I had a hysterectomy in 1989 and I am still getting hot flushes!

Nanadogsbody Wed 12-Sept-12 09:30:08

I think you should return your Winter Heating Allowance Ella! smile

Littlenellie Wed 12-Sept-12 09:42:04

greatnan so did I aged 41 ,I used to think that's it all done now..huh,the past 3 years my head is like aturkish bath ,and totally detached from the rest of my blood supply, which stops at my bum which is always cold, down to my feet.

soop Wed 12-Sept-12 11:47:03

Nellie grin
when...only a baby would do such a thing and be forgiven. smile
Ella it is strange to feel blistering hot all over ...with the exception of the tip on my nose, fingers and toes. When we visited the Science Museum, there was a body-scanner-type-thing...when anyone stood in front of it, the hot and cold areas showed up red and blue. My body image was a work of art and would have been so right for the Tate Modern!
Greatnan Bet you've had a super time with anno. Anyway, as you know, we're all here to keep you company. smile
About the little ginger cat...Mr soop startled him/her and didn't get a photo. He/she will return. Convinced it's the result of Rory's quest for a willing wifelet. The reason why I asked about little ginger's sex, is because I had been informed by an expert that all ginger cats were male. Must admit, that did seem very strange. There you go, I can be everso gullible. hmm

Ariadne Wed 12-Sept-12 11:51:24

Interesting to hear that I'm not alone in getting a bit hot now and then! Since the breast cancer and chemo etc, I took it for granted that that was it, and I'mm 66 too, but I still occasionally do the "Is it me or is it hot in here?" bit.

(Remember Fascinating Aida's song on their last album?)

Nanadogsbody Wed 12-Sept-12 12:07:05

So peaceful today with only the one 2-year old grandson to look after. He made me smile just now trying to sing along to the Ballamory theme. Will be even better in twenty minutes when he goes down for his nap.
