someone mentioned the Timothy Spall canal trip! so......... are we up for a virtual canal trip anyone? not sure if we can manage the whole "Leeds to Liverpool" but could try, anyone wanting to abandon ship could jump off at the next stop! if we havn't tied them to the rudder grin think we may need a few barges but we could tie them all together and have a Zip line to get from one to another! there may be some of you that are not keen on water, so you could run along side grin or whatever. ..I shall leave that thought with you all grin we will need plenty of supplies wine drinks, food etc, and plenty of pubs waterholes and wee toilet stops. the wearing of "mini skirts and stilettos" will be prohibited seeing as though we will be operating the locks and may need to be in certain positions ie leaning over or pushing..... and not to cause the oglers men folk distraction whilst visiting the villages.

Morning all. Where are you you landlubbers - still below decks with the ship's cat, the burly fireman and I hear on the grapevine we have a cabin boy.

I'm ready for an egg and bacon buttie and a mug of tea.

You've had enough of a lie in. smile

Glad the vodka jellies had the desired effect, Alie. Did you give some to the cat? What's more important did you leave any for me?

When I get the paper tomorrow I will check the runners for the GN and choose my horse, checking of course that no one else has got there first.

Here is a warning I am very chirpy and bright in the morning so I don't want any droopy drawers complaining of headaches and jippy tums.

Where will we be passing through tomorrow Bikergran ? I am not familiar with Up North so I expect a bit of a cultural trip and maybe a stop off at somewhere of interest, such as a trip round a brewery or the local Fire Station.

AlieOxon Fri 04-Apr-14 21:34:37

I shouldn't have finished those vodka jelllllies......not a good idea, felling wobly....gonna take my cat and do find a bunk - go sleep.

bikergran Fri 04-Apr-14 20:46:32

tiggy I have a funny feeling you have found my secret stash of Champers....you sound very drunk intoxicated I think you need to go to the Captains quarters and sleep it off....New Zealand hmm..

AlieOxon Fri 04-Apr-14 19:29:38

They must have come from New Zealand, but it isn't a pub - it's a beer!

tiggypiro Fri 04-Apr-14 19:17:56

I just have to say that, whatever state of sleepiness I am in, if food and hiccy stuff is around then I MUST be woken up in order to stop the rest of you eating/drinking too much.

There must be a joke somewhere about ''THE MONKS HABIT'' but I can't think of nun.

See ...................! I'm sober again !!

bikergran Fri 04-Apr-14 19:00:53

tiggy it's ok not too worry, just glad you hadn't slipped off with one of the Firmen whoops slip of the tongue again tee hee...fireman grin as you know they are!! for sharing! glad you rem auto pilot good gal.Sorry but think you must have been in your drunken state siesta stage when we went through Skipton..the locals passed all Fish n chips n mushy peas and delicious they were too! but we will be mooring up for the night within the next house as daylight is fading..theres a local pub a few miles down canal.."THE MONKS HABIT" strange name for a pub! but there you go grin

tiggypiro Fri 04-Apr-14 18:46:13

Sorry Biker I was just having a quick nap drunken stupor. Did remember to put the ship on auto pilot first and now ready for a some of that hamper and a few more jellies. Any champers left ?

AlieOxon Fri 04-Apr-14 17:42:03

Don't forget the hamper - though how many it will feed I don't know.

It isn't Harrods, it's better - Fortnum and Mason......couldn't quite run to the St James Hamper, it's their Belgravia one. (Look it up)
Cor.

And yes, let's get GN on the GN race.
Do we get the horse we name first?

NanKate Fri 04-Apr-14 17:09:37

I think Bikergran may have got a famous chef in the gally to rustle up something if we don't pass a chippie on the way.

Shall we have a sweepstake on the Grand National tomorrow with Toy Town money ?

ninathenana Fri 04-Apr-14 16:50:53

What's for dinner ? I need something to soak up the liquid lunch.

AlieOxon Fri 04-Apr-14 16:39:39

Get some music on someone! Where is it?

NanKate Fri 04-Apr-14 13:57:35

I'm more Rolling Stones (the early stuff) than Abba, but I am happy to dance to a good mix of music tonight. Are we likely to pass any fish and chip shops for our supper ? The Harrods hamper sounds fun too.

One of the Water Police reminds me of Gene Hunt from Life on Mars - he may be a bit rough but we could have fun with him.wink

AlieOxon Fri 04-Apr-14 13:57:04

That must explain why I have had 'Aga doo' in my head all day........now it becomes clear.....

If biker tries anything with my cat, better watch out!

bikergran Fri 04-Apr-14 13:46:27

Mainsail? You'd never get a sail under those bridges, tiggy. Hasn't this thing got a jet engine? Has anyone looked for it?

annodomini Fri 04-Apr-14 13:39:13

Take care of your cat, Alie. I am sure that biker was planning to do some cat-swinging!
