someone mentioned the Timothy Spall canal trip! so......... are we up for a virtual canal trip anyone? not sure if we can manage the whole "Leeds to Liverpool" but could try, anyone wanting to abandon ship could jump off at the next stop! if we havn't tied them to the rudder grin think we may need a few barges but we could tie them all together and have a Zip line to get from one to another! there may be some of you that are not keen on water, so you could run along side grin or whatever. ..I shall leave that thought with you all grin we will need plenty of supplies wine drinks, food etc, and plenty of pubs waterholes and wee toilet stops. the wearing of "mini skirts and stilettos" will be prohibited seeing as though we will be operating the locks and may need to be in certain positions ie leaning over or pushing..... and not to cause the oglers men folk distraction whilst visiting the villages.

ok Friday it is smile our starting point will be LEEDS (well it is the Leeds and Liverpool canal) smile Not sure if Galen is available to Captain the old barge Ship, but if not we can put it on Automatic drive and it will sort itself out, any GNetters that care to vault aboard are welcome, just pop in for tea wine and biscuits (special biscuits with added ingredients) grin feel free to come and go as you please, we will eventualy end up at Liverpfool of course if the barge gets that far vodka jellies will have to be rationed, we have evening entertainment via "The GN Factor" don't forget your equipment and costumes there will be a prize for the winner/s a return ticket to Leeds
our first stop will the nearest pub, our second stop will be the next nearest pub smile tally ho folks.. oh can someone bring a couple of toilet rolls, I forgot when I went to Asda.

The trouble with sitting in the pub waiting for everyone to turn up and they have better things to do are unable to join you is that you get slowly sozzled then morose.

I may not be able to join you this weekend as we have to go to the other end of the country sad
Starts sobbing...

Anyway, I will have a drink and think of you (not vodka though). Cheers!

I'm not very familiar with Up North. Do you think us southern softies need to wear thermal undies as we hear you may be a tad cooler than us ?

We have heard though that you do like to party. smile

AlieOxon Wed 02-Apr-14 13:32:06

Yer nesh lot. Yes bring the undies - you can always take 'em off!

NanKate Wed 02-Apr-14 14:35:01

Translation please Alie.

rosequartz Wed 02-Apr-14 14:51:10

I am sho shozzled hic hic I might jump and miss oh piss dear splash

rosequartz Wed 02-Apr-14 14:52:57

I do know what nesh is though coz I was brought up proper. I was always a nesh child, huddled by the fire. Because I was too skinny in those days.

AlieOxon Wed 02-Apr-14 14:54:37

Nesh - opposite of hardy.....

Someone throw rose a lifebelt?

AlieOxon Wed 02-Apr-14 14:55:46

Oh, she's just waving, it's ok

AlieOxon Wed 02-Apr-14 14:56:20

Is there a rope ladder somewhere?

rosequartz Wed 02-Apr-14 15:09:47

Lifebelt? A lifeguard would be better!

tiggypiro Wed 02-Apr-14 16:04:13

Oh goody - starting at Leeds. I don't need to worry about my passport and visa for visiting foreign parts doon sooth.
Flag looks good - lots of 'granny' (and a shed for grandads) things on one side and very colourful on the other so that it will look like the Union Jack (if viewed through the wrong end of binoculars) and everyone will think it is the Queen sailing by so expect lots of bows and curtseys. Start practicing your regal waves.

NanKate Wed 02-Apr-14 17:35:18

You will all be very welcome when you come back down south to my neck of the woods - the Thames.

We aren't completely Nesh down here, but sometimes we speak a bit funny. Ok YAH.

Her Maj says she will pop out of her Windsor Castle, ride down the towpath on her pitpony (gift from Up North) and bring her OH Philip, who will want a quick snifter or two.

I asked P. Anne if she would like to come and she said 'Naff Orf you Pleb' so I did !! blush

Anyway I will hightail it up to Leeds for the launching on Friday and have sorted out my thermals and promise not to the mardy if I feel cold.

Hope you all know what mardy means.

AlieOxon Wed 02-Apr-14 17:44:59

Yup.

Nonu Wed 02-Apr-14 18:25:30

YUP{2}

rosequartz Wed 02-Apr-14 20:02:49

Yes! I was never a mardy kid.

ninathenana Thu 03-Apr-14 11:58:58

I just hope I don't have a 'senior moment' and forget to turn up like I did last time blush sad

bikergran Thu 03-Apr-14 18:20:35

Nonu what areee you insinuating, I sense a shadow hic of doubt in your voice just slurping the last drop you know what the UPS is like at delivering parcels must remember to dispose of the bottles

bikergran Thu 03-Apr-14 18:23:51

NanaKate you will need hotwater bottles/thermals/woollen socks/fleecy nightie with zip along the bottom/gloves/bob hat.

Alie plenty of rope ladders about, my mum crotched a few for us to hang here n there.
rose we have Burly Firemen who will assist to keep you warm u have to grin but just remember you have to share!!

bikergran Thu 03-Apr-14 18:35:47

Early night for me, got the supplies packed, the Firmen will be at my door in the morning (after the school run) got to get to Leeds on the train to pick up the Barge.

NanKate Thu 03-Apr-14 21:35:11

Thanks for the advice will bring all my warmest woollies from down sarf.

Now far be it for me to make comments about spelling, but I think Bikergran you meant 'crochet' as in knitting, as in my neck of the woods a crotch is part of your undercarriage ! blush

But knowing the type of trip we are going on we must be prepared for a bit of naughtiness, so perhaps you did mean private bits !

I am going to be prepared for anything and everything. Can I bring my teddy ?
