To have support for hospital appointment!

I have to have further investigations at hospital following my recent mammogram. I asked my DH to accompany me, as it is a full day affair. DH asked his manager at work for the day off. She said no, and if he took the day off it would result in disciplinary action! Is this common policy in every workplace? One of the ethical values of the Co-op is "caring for others". This does not sound very caring to me. Well, I'll just have to go by myself on the bus.

We all dread being recalled don't we? Delighted you are o.k. Hilda.

Great news. I've been doing some retail therapy and started thinking of you in the car [once I'd found it; not the first time I've wandered aimlessly round a car park for ages] on the way home.

Doesn't it feel great hilda when you get that sort of good news? - I have been down this road twice and was ecstatic - I am so glad that all is well for you. What excellent news.

Good news, hildajJ. It's good to hear all went well.

tegan, my dad used to do that losing the car business (when he wasn't misplacing the car keys in one or other of his hundred and one pockets). Once he even walked home (a mile or so) and said the car had been stolen. i asked him if he was sure he'd parked it in x carpark and not y. Of course he was sure. I took the keys, walked to y carpark and there was the car. #scat-tastic! grin
I have bouts of it too.

congratulations hilda, I didn't realise you were going to one of the Newcastle hospitals. they are really good. We have the best up north.

I've been to the RVI very often in the past few years. DGD went to the allergy clinic, and DGS1 went to dermatology, audiology, and the genetics clinics. He has a skin condition passed from mother to son called x-linked ichthyosis. It is fairly rare, and they were very interested in him. We have always had wonderful treatment from them. I am very glad I don't have to go back though.
