Can I join in, even if though I'm not a 'Gran'?

I've come over from the 'other place'.
Like others, I tried to log in to MN this morning and it won't let me (I don't think I've said anything I shouldn't have, or had any arguments that I know of shock )
I think it's because they are making everybody get new passwords (what with their 'problems' and all)
I can't get a password reset as I don't remember the email address I registered with, which is a fat lot of good. confused Anyway, I don't really feel 'safe' on there at the moment, so won't be trying too hard to get back on there for a while.

I remembered that I'd joined Gransnet a while ago, but hadn't used it much at the time, because I felt like a bit of a fake - what with not even having any grandchildren of my own- even though I'm the right age hmm.
Are there many that post on here, who also aren't 'grans'?
I hope it's alright to be on here. It seems like a nice place. Not as intense as MN, but still with interesting subjects to discuss.
On the other hand, NetMums seems too twee for me.
Thanks.

I sometimes do the ironing.

dustyangel Wed 19-Aug-15 19:01:57

What do we do? soon We have a life that's what. grin

Also, we (most of us) don't have to stay at home in the evenings because we have young children.

Welcome snowberry2 I'm sure you will enjoy it here.

soontobe Wed 19-Aug-15 19:06:47

Ironing! Cleaning cupboards!

Ana Wed 19-Aug-15 19:30:13

What on earth do you do then, soontobe, apart from monitoring the postings of GN members...? hmm

janerowena Wed 19-Aug-15 19:41:05

I don't go to bed until gone 11pm! And don't turn the light out until midnight or 1am sometimes - I like to live dangerously!

downtoearth Wed 19-Aug-15 19:42:04

erm I go to bed around 9.30blush....the dog starts whining, and looking up the stairs...I read my book and resident teenager plonks herself on the bed as well as dog,and decides its time to chat.....welcome snowberry I do have my own teeth although OH has to remove my glasses and tuck me in when I have fallen asleep, and rub in the Ibuleve on my dodgy back....grin

soontobe Wed 19-Aug-15 19:48:24

I do mean Ironing! Cleaning cupboards! at 10 or 11pm. smile And no I dont do them then.

soontobe Wed 19-Aug-15 19:51:13

I have started to myself as well downtoearth. Partly because most posters disappear at that time.
And now I have started, I like it that I wake up earlier, and can enjoy the early morning when it has been quite nice weather.

soontobe Wed 19-Aug-15 19:52:52

I hope snowberryz is enjoying her thread.

Ana Wed 19-Aug-15 20:01:36

So it isn't the rest of us, it's just you then soontobe (apart from downtoearth and she has an excuse because she's looking after a teenager GD!).

How do you know people come back at 10.30 and start posting again if you're in bed by then...? Oh, I forgot you're monitoring - probably got a notebook or a spreadsheet on GN members' habits! grin

Indinana Wed 19-Aug-15 20:04:23

I think snowberryz is very possibly wondering what on earth she's let herself in for grin

thatbags Wed 19-Aug-15 20:39:01

I'm sometimes asleep by 9:30! I count that as getting on with real life wink

I don't think any of us quite knew what we were letting ourselves in for when we joined Gransnet.

Welcome, snowberryz. What on earth have you done over in the Other Place that you don't feel safe there?!?! shock (you don't have to answer that smile)

Charleygirl Wed 19-Aug-15 20:56:54

8thatbags* If I was asleep by 9.30pm I would be up at 2 am bright as a button and there are not too many shops open, even in London.

I switch off my light between midnight and 1am.

I am going to watch TV before the rest of you fall asleep reading this malarkey.

soontobe Wed 19-Aug-15 20:58:22

I find looking at patterns of things fascinating. Always have.
I will remember in future that you are not in bed between 9.30pm and 10.30pm Ana.

I dont think that snowberryz will be the least bit interested in this, so I think I will stop posting on here about bedtimes now.

Ana Wed 19-Aug-15 21:00:35

Only half an hour until yours anyway, soontobe! About time you started getting ready for it now, isn't it? grin

jinglbellsfrocks Wed 19-Aug-15 21:20:03

Bags you are very^young^. And of course you do spend an inordinate amount of time hacking and slaying in the wilds of the North.

I hate the cold grey light of dawn with a vengeance and would rather be in bed with a sock over my eyes to keep it out, and the World Service in my ear holes to keep me anaesthetised not see it.

downtoearth Wed 19-Aug-15 21:34:02

I have always been a lark I love the early morning when the day is all fresh. I like to get on with the cleaning and the washing before the energy runs out....But OH has to bring me a cuppa first.....well is now past my bedtime dog is giving me dirty looks ..so am off up the wooden hill I wish you all a good night and pleasant dreamsmoon

Ana Wed 19-Aug-15 21:35:41

Night night smile

thatbags Wed 19-Aug-15 21:39:37

Having a late night (till 2200 maybe) cos I had a nap this afternoon. Nice to meet another lark, downtoearth smile

Ana Wed 19-Aug-15 22:22:35

I'm still here, soontobe, and nowhere near getting my nightie on yet! grin

merlotgran Wed 19-Aug-15 22:28:28

I'm still here because my problem is I love late nights and early mornings.

I must have been a nightmare baby grin

Indinana Wed 19-Aug-15 23:15:34

I'm still here too! Mind you, I am beginning to think I ought to begin to think about going to bed, where I might sit up and read for a while before I begin to think about actually going to sleep wink

thatbags Thu 20-Aug-15 06:26:34

Is one supposed to think about going to sleep? I never knew that. Seems I'm doing it all wrong wink

kittylester Thu 20-Aug-15 06:36:24

I'm another lark! We are usually drinking our first cup of tea around 6.15.

Welcome snowberryz - just look what you started! grin

Anya Thu 20-Aug-15 06:37:41

I expect we've driven snowberry back to The Other Side after that scintillating discussion!
