Parole of rapist

As castration is unfortunately not allowed could the police not simply charge him for some of the other rapes which only came to light after he was convicted. Perhaps 5 charges then when he is due for parole again bring another batch of charges. In that way the public could be protected indefinitely.
How could the parole board allow this monster to be freed after what he has done?

Amazing that so much money could be wasted on this criminal - all that money could be going to Victim support. They are the people who matter, not him.

maryeliza54 Fri 05-Jan-18 18:59:29

Ah yes the victims - the ones that the Met are using tax payers money to fund their appeal to the Supreme Court against the victims? The victims that went to the police and were laughed at? Still they are only women who were probably asking for it so who really really genuinely cares? After all we live in a country were disgusting tweets about women’s breasts, looks and anal sex gets you a job on a body regulating universities and the ringing endorsement of Boris and Gove and the deafening silence of Theresa.

maryeliza54 Fri 05-Jan-18 19:01:35

And the victims that no one could be bothered to inform about his release. Ah yes - the victims.

Christinefrance Fri 05-Jan-18 20:04:18

It seems again the victims are bottom of the list, what is it with the so called justice system that the rights of the criminal always come first.

maryeliza54 Fri 05-Jan-18 20:41:40

No it’s not that the rights of the criminal come first,it’s that women DON’T COUNT. Can anyone justify why bloody Boris is justifying Toby Young? We are a misogynist society as many GN posters demonstrate

rafichagran Fri 05-Jan-18 21:32:11

I fear we will hear the expression 'lessons will be learn't time and time again as they ever learn.

trisher Fri 05-Jan-18 21:43:06

But what sort of a message does this send to other men who may be of the same inclination? If the average sentence for rape is around 5 years and someone who has committed many serves only 10 years, doesn't that send out the message that you might as well do as many as you can, you're not going to serve that much longer.

maryeliza54 Fri 05-Jan-18 22:14:13

Well when we have a society that actually values women rather than laughs at them or thinks they ask for it maybe we can have a different conversation - all the sexual harassment that is tolerated, condoned, blamed on women - no wonder men have a sense of entitlement and a right to power over women. What message does porn on an MPs computer send to men? What message does Boris defending Toby send to men? What message do many posters on GN send to men? The message is that women ask for it, that they are responsible for whatever men do to them, that they have to change. Not men. When Theresa May has the bloody courage to sack Toby Young then maybe I’ll begin to believe that things might change but otherwise, forget it. It’s all a woman’s fault.

Morgana Fri 05-Jan-18 23:45:44

Appalling. He would have served a longer sentence if he'd robbed a bank...

maryeliza54 Sat 06-Jan-18 07:52:38

Of course he would because we live in a society that values money over people, especially women. Giving longer sentences to rapists won’t stop rape or women being subject to daily sexual harassment and objectification will it?

PamelaJ1 Sat 06-Jan-18 09:59:17

I heard this morning that the police are looking at the other victims with a view, I presume, to start new proceedings.

Anniebach Sat 06-Jan-18 10:07:04

What can be done about sexual harrisment? prosecute every knee toucher ? Is it acceptable this happens , no, but what is the answer?

There are some now wanting operas such as Carmen and Rigoletto to have the endings changed , this hysteria will not help women

trisher Sat 06-Jan-18 11:12:16

I was wondering, and I know GN is a mine of information, does anyone know how many women sat on his Parole Board? Is there a case for having all women boards for offenders who committed crimes only against women? Maybe men don't have good judgement on this.

Jalima1108 Sat 06-Jan-18 11:44:16

I don't know the answer but hope there was a balance and that any right-minded man would be equally horrified at his crimes, which were not carried out on the spur of the moment but carefully planned.
He is a danger to all women and should not have been released on parole.

eazybee Sat 06-Jan-18 12:06:08

I believe the Parole Review Body was led by a highly experienced woman, no more details than that.

Anniebach Sat 06-Jan-18 12:11:13

It would be wrong to have an all woman parole board as it is to have an all male parole board. And I do not believe all men are incapable of understanding the effects of rape on a woman.

Anniebach Sat 06-Jan-18 12:12:59

And also, the police let the women down, not all police officers are male.

trisher Sat 06-Jan-18 12:19:34

The Parole board was chaired by a man Nick Hardwick who has apologised that victims were not informed of the decision.

Sometimes it seems that we have lost all common sense in this country. How on earth can it be safe to release such a monster? I wonder if he has been declared impotent and that has swayed the judgement of the parole board? Not realising that rape isn't just about sexual gratification but about asserting ones power over others.

maryeliza54 Sat 06-Jan-18 22:41:10

NH is Chsir of the Parole Board which has over 200 members, 3 of whom made up the panel that decided on Worboys release. This group of 3 was chaired by a woman

maryeliza54 Sat 06-Jan-18 22:42:44

There are plenty of women on GN who have no sympathy at all with women who are raped: sexually assaulted and sexually harassed

Jalima1108 Sat 06-Jan-18 22:44:36

Really maryeliza
I cannot believe that.

Jalima1108 Sat 06-Jan-18 22:44:50

sorry, should have added ?

Maggiemaybe Sat 06-Jan-18 23:42:25

There are plenty of women on GN who have no sympathy at all with women who are raped
What evidence do you have of that, maryeliza54?

vampirequeen Sat 06-Jan-18 23:55:46

Who are these 'plenty of woman'?
