Parole of rapist

As castration is unfortunately not allowed could the police not simply charge him for some of the other rapes which only came to light after he was convicted. Perhaps 5 charges then when he is due for parole again bring another batch of charges. In that way the public could be protected indefinitely.
How could the parole board allow this monster to be freed after what he has done?

Yes, I'd like to know who the "plenty of women" are too. Seems a rather vague assertion to make for such a serious allegation.

There have been threads on all these issues and there are always a reliable number of posters who are very negative towards women in such cases and very unsupportive. There are posters who think women bring it on themselves, should change their behaviour, lie, wear the wrong clothes etc etc . The Harvey Weinstein case, Damien Green, The Defence Secretary whose name I have forgotten, If most posters on GN are so supportive of wome, why is the discussion on this thread focussed almost solely on the Parole Board and the sentence and not on the wider context in which this whole situation developed including police attitudes and the wider society. I’ve clearly missed all the many many posts criticising Toby Young and the support he is getting from Boris and Michael whilst the best that Theresa can manage is that his tweets are ‘distasteful’. WTAF?

I guess we're discussing the rapist case because that's what the thread is about. If you want to discuss Boris et al then start another thread.

You probably missed the posts criticising Toby Young and his behaviour because I think it is a meandering on a political thread not one specifically about sexual behaviour and you must have realised that most posters will avoid the political threads now for obvious reasons.

In the meantime, your assertion about 'plenty of women on GN' should perhaps be taken with a huge pinch of salt.

plenty of women
a reliable number
who have no sympathy at all with women who are raped: sexually assaulted and sexually harassed

I don't think that that is true, sorry.

lemongrove Sun 07-Jan-18 14:22:47

Of course it isn’t true, and what a bloody cheek to even say that about GN members!

The parole board is being talked about because they are the one that allowed his new parole freedom.

But what sort of a message does this send to other men who may be of the same inclination? If the average sentence for rape is around 5 years and someone who has committed many serves only 10 years, doesn't that send out the message that you might as well do as many as you can, you're not going to serve that much longer.
The sentencing is far too lenient altogether for so many of these cases trisher - imo.

The other thing is, though, that unfortunately he was not tried and found guilty for the other 'alleged' rapes trisher.

And often someone who has been found guilty of multiple offences receives concurrent sentences, not consecutive sentences.
