I'm 67. I met my 57 year old sister yesterday. I was wearing Robell tight stretchy beige/cream coloured trousers which I love. Got a spot on them, was moaning I'd only put them on. Sister said you shouldn't wear beige trousers anyway. only old ladies wear beige trousers! I thought it was a strange thing to say. Would appreciate views. truth please.

I would never wear beige trousers of any design and as for beige anoraks.............shock
Sorry if this upsets anyone but annep did ask!!

I love Robell trousers and have 5 pairs in varied colours, navy, black, silver grey, sage green, and ..... beige/latte/neutral/mushroom...
They are 7/8 ankle skimmers and I love my beige trousers to bits. They definitely do not look frumpy. It's how you wear them.
With a crimpelene (sp) top or a 'safe' top, with the wrong shoes etc anything can look frumpy.
I wear mine with funky Masai tops, sharp shoes or sandals, sometimes my Fitflops.

I don't have a beige anorak .....
In fact, I don't have an anorak

The only problem with beige trousers is that they will show the red wine stains .....

Jalima1108 Fri 22-Jun-18 20:23:41

and - does Crimplene still exist?

Nothing wrong with beige on the bottom half, teamed with something bright or deep on the top.

And always better than black, black, black, black ,black.........

Jalima1108 Fri 22-Jun-18 20:25:13

ps, I have never heard of Robell trousers

Maggiemaybe Fri 22-Jun-18 20:28:37

grin I’ve just this minute googled them, Jalima.

While pouring a red wine, trying not to spill.

If you visit resorts like Marbella or Puerto Banus, you will see ladies of a certain age wearing beige, ankle grazer chinos, looking remarkably chic and elegant.
It's all in the cut and material.

It's not the pouring ..... it's the table to mouth part that could be the problem.
I am very clumsy.
So I should always wear dark or red trousers. hmm

On my yacht

I wasn't staying there Jalima, just jumped on a bus for a few Euros and went to "people watch" grin

Jalima1108 Fri 22-Jun-18 20:49:46

We did stay near there (how posh are we?) grin
But not on a yacht.
That was the first time I ate squid and it was chewy and horrible, have never touched it since.

I'm sure all you happy wearers of beige trousers look very smart. However, we are (mostly) older ladies so are bound to find beige trousers smart - it's a sign of ageing!!

Jalima1108 Fri 22-Jun-18 20:53:25

I have seen DD wear beige trousers - must tell her they are very ageing!!

annep Fri 22-Jun-18 20:59:16

I did laugh at some of your replies. I agree. Definitely not to be worn with a glass of red in one's hand. I think I will continue to wear but only with dark contrasting tops and not so often.. Mine sound the same as yours Coolgran tight capri style.. I think I will get a denim pair as well. They are definitely not baggy dress trousers or crimplene. I wouldnt wear those. Thanks everyone. Its great to be able to ask.

I am very fair and wear beige linen trousers in the summer with a crisp white blouse and a floaty scarf and white soled deck shoes and photos confirm it's not an 'old lady' outfit.

My very petite friend has a fitted (tailored) beige padded jacket which she wears with skinny jeans and she looks extremely chic!

I think we may be confusing the days of the awful crimplene with beige trousers? I have now started looking at younger women, and yes, beige is evident on the high street. My daughter has beige capri pants and they look good on her slim legs worn with ballerina pumps.

Jalima1108 Fri 22-Jun-18 21:06:42

Just call it 'sand' and not beige!

Jalima1108 Fri 22-Jun-18 21:07:56

It's not a good look - especially with grey or white hair
I should add that my hair is not grey or white!

varian Fri 22-Jun-18 21:17:38

You might just be able to get away with the all beige look, then, Jalima

Purpledaffodil Fri 22-Jun-18 21:27:52

Hmmm! I had to google Robell trousers and, apart from the eye watering price, I thought they looked great.
But, when I ticked the beige box and had a page full of beige trousers, somehow they didn’t look nearly so good to me.
But if you feel good in them annep, that is the important thing.
PS this makes me very glad I don’t have a sister. How rude! ?

Jalima1108 Fri 22-Jun-18 21:28:28

grin
Never All Beige varian!!

navy and beige sand
black and beige sand

Jalima1108 Fri 22-Jun-18 21:29:35

White and beige sand is fine too
