Is Jeremy Corbyn holding the Labour back?

Is it time for Jeremy Corbyn to step aside as Leader of the Labour Party? He does not seem to be engaging with a swathe of the electorate who are not historically Conservative voters, but who do not seem to be inspired to support Labour either, the Labour Party as it is at the moment does not present itself to the electorate as a viable alternative to the Conservatives. Perhaps a change of leader would make a difference .
On top of which there isn’t a credible third party, perhaps suggestions on a post card to Houses of Parliament would give them all a clue ?

Didn’t you know ? Silence is golden .

Empty vessels make the most noise, and write the longest posts

As lemongrove says, this push to the far left is hugely unpopular with Labour voters and with those who change their party allegiance between elections. As long as JC and his communist crew are there I am 100% confident that we will never have a Labour government. As I have said before, I keep my ears to the ground and won sizeable bets on Leave and Trump and I feel as confident that JC is a disaster along with his whole front bench. I would abolish unions if I had my way - back in the seventies we nearly lost our house because my OH was called out on strike over nothing important ?

As i have stated earlier in this thread, all the gnashing of teeth, outright nationalism and diversion of the thread into peoples private live would suggest to me that many on here believe that the Labour Party had had a very good conference.

Anniebach, as a "claimed socialist" refusing to say that you support the very basic Labour movement policies i have laid out above informs this forum of everything in regards to your political views.

Your silence is that evidence.

Anniebach Wed 26-Sept-18 21:01:24

kitty , good grief , he has lost the plot , thank you for replying.

Hope he didn’t applaud his own speech !

Grandad1943 Wed 26-Sept-18 20:59:26

Apologies should be policies above police. Speech to text not recognising my words tonight after three days of near-continuous talking. confused

Anniebach Wed 26-Sept-18 20:59:14

As i have refused to say how can you claim I do, or do not support what you List ? Crystal ball, swinging pendulum, tarot cards, a spirit guide ?

lemongrove Wed 26-Sept-18 20:58:09

True, the Blair government was well away from the far left but that was what made it so successful !
Pushing too much to the left is a big turn off for most Labour voters, notice I say voters , not members, because it’s the voters that really matter.
Many GNers are now realising what a liability Corbyn and McDonnell and other Marxist friends are.
Obviously not you though Grandad43 grin

kittylester Wed 26-Sept-18 20:55:48

Jeremy Corbyn joined in singing 'oh, Jeremy Corbyn'.

Grandad1943 Wed 26-Sept-18 20:51:17

Who is the far left on this forum then anniebach, well let us see?

You as a "claimed" socialist do not support the ending of the gig economy.

You do not support further restrictions on Zero hours contracts.

You do not support the relaxation of restrictive trade union legislation, especially where those trade unions have to inform employers who will be taking part in any industrial action fourteen days before that action takes place.

The above are just a few of the current Labour party police that you Anniebach have been asked your views on time and time again on this forum and have refused to say.

Therefore we can only believe that you do not support the above fundamental Labour policies.

Therefore, we can only assume you are a "closet Tory" and not part of Labour in any way.

I for one was very encouraged by the energy shown by members, of all ages at the LP Conference. Corbyn is a breath of fresh air as far as I am concerned and I am not young or a momentum member, but really pleased that the Labour Party is returning to its socialist roots after many years of having policies hardly discernible from those of the Conservatives.

Anniebach Wed 26-Sept-18 20:35:59

Posting lies is acceptable. If a poster tells a lie can anything they say be believed ?

Grandad1943 Wed 26-Sept-18 20:27:45

kittylester, I was not being personal just stating a fact.

If we are going to have a political debate on this forum, then let us have that debate without bringing peoples personal lives into it.

Anniebach Wed 26-Sept-18 20:25:00

Too funny, speaking of the affair McClusky and the newly appointed general secretary of the Labour Party and their happy arrival of a son brings chastisement ‘ it’s their private lives ‘

Surely JRM’s children and their nanny is ‘their private lives’

Such hypocrisy ?

Anniebach Wed 26-Sept-18 20:19:05

kitty, who joined in singing the Jeremy anthem ?

Anniebach Wed 26-Sept-18 20:17:23

I have had strong slug it out lessons from the far left here

OldMeg Wed 26-Sept-18 20:15:21

I’m sure Annie can answer for herself kittylester

I’ll give her one thing, she can slug it out herself.

kittylester Wed 26-Sept-18 20:13:21

I can't believe he joined in singing 'oh Jeremy Corbyn' at the Party Conference!

kittylester Wed 26-Sept-18 20:11:16

Do try not to be personal Grandad1943.

Grandad1943 Wed 26-Sept-18 20:07:55

Anniebach, Quote[McCluskey puppet master , his ex girl friend and mother of his son is the general secretary, Cosy]End Quote

anniebach, what has your above post have to do with British politics.

Peoples private lives are what they are, their private lives, and your posts become more and more "bizarre".

Still, coming from a "closet Tory" what else should forum members expect.

Grandad1943 Wed 26-Sept-18 20:00:02

Bagatelle, as I stated earlier in this thread without the trade unions paying all the bills there would be no Labour party. It has always been that way, for the Labour Party is an integral part of the much broader labour movement.

And that's the way it should be

Anniebach Wed 26-Sept-18 19:59:34

McCluskey puppet master , his ex girl friend and mother of his son is the general secretary, Cosy ?

Anniebach Wed 26-Sept-18 19:57:19

The Atlee Government served 1945 to 1951, took untill 1964 for the next Labour government . 13 years. Similar to 1983 to 1997 , 14 years. Then three consecutive Labour victories,

Grandad1943 Wed 26-Sept-18 19:51:41

In the above no not feel that Jeremy Corbyn is holding back the Labour movement, far from it

Bagatelle Wed 26-Sept-18 19:51:12

Can't vote Labour now. Not with McCluskey as puppet master.
