In praise Of Prince Harry & Prince William(please read)

I think Harry is doing the right thing to protect his marriage. I have no doubt that if he insisted they stay in England and Meghan try to adapt to the protocols and restrictions of Royal life she would end up running for the hills. She's too independent and free spirited for that lifestyle.

This way there is some chance of the marriage surviving, and the Queen has obviously been careful to leave the door open for Harry should things not work out.

It's weird I'd get rid of the RF and yet I have more sympathy for H&M than any of the so called royalists. I thought Harry's speech was heartfelt and he wanted a way out which would have let him keep some of his roles. There have been other people speaking about what a loss he will be. It seems to me that the establishment which got rid of the D of Windsor is still alive and well and operating at some secret level to make sure the RF don't change. And that Her Maj would have allowed a change if she could have found a way around the obstacles.

And I should add that I've been very impressed with the amazing knowledge exhibited by gransnetters - so many appear to have a hot line to the inner workings of the senior and junior members of the RF and their staff, and know exactly what each member is feeling and thinking.

Thank you for this thread Bridgeit. I've never taken much notice of anything that happens within the royal family. However, I am genuinely very disappointed that it has shown some people to be so spiteful and judgemental. It saddens me that I live amongst such people. They really have shown their true colours. Even when the whole thing seems to be resolved, they can't help having a "dig".

So ...what happened is no small thing, and naturally people have all sorts of views on it, but thoughts of Les Dawson are off limits .. because .. ? I mean if one could place a face on some of the statements being made .. isn't applying the face of Les Dawson an act of kindness .. ?

Over five thousand members of 'Far Right ' have joined the Conservative Party. Phillip Hammond et al saw this coming and got out, before they were tarnished with the same brush. They are a party of extremism.
I watched Harry's speech tonight and found it to be both genuine and moving.
He and Meghan have my very best wishes for their future together

People disagree, it’s an emotive topic, but no reason at all to be emotional or personal to posters who don’t see things your own way.

There is nothing PH can say that will be acceptable to the MHers other than ‘ I was completely wrong to marry that scheming witch and I’m really sorry and HM and I now have joint custody of Archie who has been brought back to the UK by the SAS( she can keep the dogs). I disagree endre.
Because the Conservative Party isn’t as centre as it was until a few years ago, doesn’t make it a far right Party.
Not in the generally accepted definition of far right, as most people think of it.
But be that as it may, there is no evidence that this government wants to attack our constitution and get rid of the monarchy.
