I feel so angry with Meghan & Harry

All the drivel about privacy and they do an interview with Oprah. I feel ashamed for Harry that he feels the need to air his dirty linen in public. What do they get from this? I have no idea. Prince Philip is in hospital and I just feel like saying shame on you both.

Can I just say, I feel sorry for secondhandrose.

She started a thread, was told she shouldnt have (???) in no uncertain terms, and must feel decidedly miffed!

I'm glad this has turned into a fun space though, because from my pov the less said about the unmentionable duo the better!

I'm looking forward to next week.

BTW I can knit so can I join someones club? Pretty please?

We don’t have a formal written constitution. And if it destroys the Royal Family, I’ll send them a thank you card.

Well said!!

Blondiescot Sat 06-Mar-21 12:31:33

Meant to add, I wish people would get more upset about the alleged antics of another senior royal rather than getting their knickers in a twist about what one other poster on here quite rightly described as a family squabble.

Namsnanny I'm so sorry. I did helpfully offer to direct secondhandrose to 3 or 4 other M & H threads about which she said she had no idea.
The OP said she is so cross with M & H, maybe others are just showing their anger in a different way here!
Can you knit me me a lacy stole for my night at opera please Namsnanny? I think trisher mentioned something about populace, in cream if possible.

LauraNorder Sat 06-Mar-21 12:49:11

My sincere apologies SecondhandRose, I plead guilty to diverting your thread somewhat. I hope you are not upset by it.
I also plead guilty, along with several others, of trying to make it a lighter more fun thread in view of the fact that there were other more angry threads on the same subject.
I wasn’t guilty of saying what should or should not be said by others so am not a GN senior or royalty.
Just to be serious about this latter issue for a minute. There is no hierarchy, we are all equal.

Smileless2012 Sat 06-Mar-21 13:15:57

My apologies too SecondhandRose but I hope you don't mind this having become a light hearted thread. I'm sure everyone will agree that as we've rather derailed this thread, you be given a golden ticket to the RG club by way of compensation.

I've given this a great deal of thought trisher and despite having spent some time practising my flounce in front of a mirror, and having got it off to a 't', I've decided that my loyalty is to the RG's.

Oprah got back to me but I told her "now is not the time". I just couldn't bring myself to part with my tiara and the possibility of not having someone to do my knitting for me was the deal breaker.

You are something of a disrupter Laura. There's a definite whiff of anarchy about you!
Re the perceived hierarchy. I do wonder what quieter members think of more prolific posters.
I recall Lucca attempting a thread about the subject, but it upset someone and got pulled I think.
On a thread that I started a poster grumbled about 'seeing the same names'. Lots of posters then popped up and agreed.

eazybee Sat 06-Mar-21 13:19:55

The 'level of personal affront' may well be because the royal family have been a constant in our lives, like them or not; Governments come and go, celebrities, personalities, stars flourish then disappear, natural disasters shake lives, but the royal family, being like all families, always has occasions which reflect our own lives.
I remember the Coronation vividly, someone yesterday recalled the Queen's wedding fondly, (didn't know she was that old),every one remembers where they were when Diana died, and most will remember the fall out from this latest soap opera drama.
Births, marriages, deaths and everything in between.

Namsnanny Sat 06-Mar-21 13:57:50

No need for apologies everyone, I was just doing the same thing, and voicing my opinion!

EllianneIve got some lovely cream cashmere with a subtle fleck of silver running through it. Does that fit the bill? After all we dont want it to clash with the tiara do we?

*Smileless*, I have been interviewed by the local constabulary, does that count?

Picked up by the Fuzz eh? Tut tut

There’s a distinct whiff of anarchy about many of us Fanny
It’s what makes us interesting.?

FannyCornforth Sat 06-Mar-21 14:17:30

Absolutely lemon smile

Smileless2012 Sat 06-Mar-21 14:21:16

So that's what that whiff is. I didn't like to mention it but have been wonderinggrin.

lemongrove Sat 06-Mar-21 14:22:44

Smileless I have a bath once a year, whether I need it or not!

Smells like (fill in the blank) spirit
(I'm not at all witty at the moment to think of my own joke)

lemongrove Sat 06-Mar-21 14:26:21

Well, it isn’t teen spirit, that’s for sure, but it could be gin.

Bridgeit Sat 06-Mar-21 14:27:11

Hi SecondhandRose, funny though all the comments have been, it’s a shame your OP has been a little bit derailed, but I think you may have helped a few GNetters ,by lancing a boil of pent up frustration, so I thank you for starting a thread that has been interesting & therapeutic , plus I am sure there will be much more to come as we hear more & more from H & M?

Smileless2012 Sat 06-Mar-21 14:27:31

As much as once a year lemon I'm impressedgrin.

That's not fair FannyCornforth I can't think of an appropriate spirit to fill in the blankangry.

Unfortunately the nearest the SAGGIES will get to the Savoy is perhaps a cabbage each from the communal allotment, as for The Coli, that will likely be E coli from the vintage bloaters... I fear the SAGGIES are a lost cause.

FannyC disrupter, moi.

NellG Sat 06-Mar-21 14:37:07

Sorry secondhandrose mea culpa. I suspect this thread turned out better this way though - I am so angry with the pair I fear something will rupture before long. Probably my stays, maybe my sanity.

Smileless2012 Sat 06-Mar-21 14:38:57

LauraNorder having read your post @ 14.32 I just can't understand why anyone would take you for a disruptershock.
