My husband thinks I’m being a bit silly over this, but why can’t the BBC, ITV and everywhere else talking about the vaccination, call the injection the vaccination, or double vaccination ? Instead they call it the JAB!!!! It drives me mad every time I hear it. Honestly, “double jabbed” for pity’s sake! Anyone with me on that one?
Famalam?? What's that paperbackbutterfly? Agree about holibobs. I loathe hubster even more than hubby if that's possible. Also, hipster makes me cringe. I'm sure there are loads more....
I thoroughly agree not "jab", it is a medical procedure we would not talk of going to the Dentist for a" pull "we would say extraction. We should all be saying immunisation.
All the above. Gutted. Gobsmacked. Innit. Grandkids. I could go on ... And not slang but can I add ‘lickle’ instead of ‘little’ and ‘we are’ pregnant. Make me want to scream. I should change my name to Meldrew.
ExD, you are right - I feel that any adult should be able to distinguish a noun from a verb. However, social stationery now seems only to offer " invites..
It would be nice to hear politicians pronounce the word 'to' properly instead of saying 'ter'. Every single Downing street character seems unable to do this, despite the Oxford education. NJ is the worst offender - how anybody with any real education can give any credence to him or others when they say "It's important ter follow the rules" beats me!
