Tradesmen? I’m sick of them!

Is it just me who feels they must have the words, “tradesmen, please feel free to let this person down, and ignore them when they phone you to find out why” tattooed on their forehead (yes I know it would have to be a pretty big forehead - they could, at a pinch, let it trickle down onto my cheek….)? We were suppose to have a gas fitter come to service the fire in our living room today. He gave me a time, and a date, and he hasn’t turned up! When I telephoned him to find out what was going on, I had to leave a voice message. That was two hours ago and he hasn’t come back to me with either a call or a text. This is the third gas fitter who has let me down without a word of explanation. Why?? Apart from anything else it’s so b****y rude!! I have a lot going on in my life at the moment that I could legitimately dissolve into a howling mess about, so why is a nothing issue in the big scheme of things threatening to reduce me to tears? Sorry. I just needed a rant…. I am now off to make an effigy to stick pins in!!!

If this a is a contest, I am winning! The gas man/plumber is supposed to be removing my old Rayburn, disconnecting the water and plumbing in my new cooker which arrived last Saturday still in its box
The old Rayburn was condemned back in July and I have been leaving messages and emailing since then.
His wife once told me he didn't get home until 10pm sometimes. Where is he - in the pub? at yours?
It is complicated because the electrician needs to liaise with him to upgrade the wiring (it's a dual fuel cooker)
I could cry.

There are other tradesmen in the town but I daresay it would be just as hard to get them out.

Not only tradesmen but trades men who work with housing associations.

My dd lives in council house association, she works full time, council tried to arrange electric and gas check.

They didn't do out of hours, dd was sent threatening letters about her not allowing them to do the checks (she was working and the time slots were "all day" 9-5 .)

After one more nasty letter she rang them again and could not believe that they said " we can come at 6.00(18.00) hrs!! she said I was told you "don't do" evenings.

Anyway in the end they said they can do Sat morning 8-1pm

So dd was up early on her day off, waited and waited ....and waited...... yes you guessed it "no show" we had planned to go for walk.

I said right it's 1.30go stand at door take selfie with door in background and if they say "you wern't in" them give them a right ((*&^^%%$%%%%%)!!! yes they make you sick., the lot of them!! arsole$

This certainly strengthens the case for more apprenticeships.

I gave up years ago trying to find tradesmen to do anything. No one wants to do the small jobs these days, they all think they should be building grand designs
