Where to buy quality underwear?

I recently bought 2 multi packs of knickers from a well-known store, in a style and size I've worn for years.
They didn't seem to fit right. Theres not enough material in the back and way too much stretchy material in the front.
I've compared them with my older pairs (5 years old and more) and there is now definitely more material in the crotch area! (almost a pouchy effect on some of the pairs, a bit like men's underpants confused)

I went online to read some of the reviews and there are male people raving about these knickers, saying that "there's enough room for men to wear them" basically they can fit their their male bits in them.

Aibu for being shocked that even women's underwear is now under attack?
So now we have to wear saggy, pouchy underwear, just because transwomen might get upset if there isn't enough room for them to fit their junk in?
(most transwomen these days don't have bottom surgery and choose to keep their male penises and testicles). I'm not sure if many Gransnetters are aware of that)

Aibu to think there should be a separate section for transwomens underwear?
Manufacturersshould not be changing and messing around with women's underware and shoving extra material into areas that have no need of extra material.
Why do women always have to budge up to accommodate others?
I'm prepared to be told to shut up and #bekind.
Which is what usually happens.

Oh and I would have put this in Feminism if we had such a section.

The worst aspect of this thread, is that on GN I now get this one, among all the other trashy adverts. Let it go!

Mollygo Mon 07-Mar-22 08:17:27

Pants!

PamelaJ1 Mon 07-Mar-22 09:19:24

I buy my knickers with balls in mind. Tennis balls ?. I can get 4 nicely tucked into the back but they have to be quite tight or the balls slip!
This is only important in the summer. In winter I have a hoody that has a pouch in the front so the balls go in there. I look like a kangaroo with lots of babies!

Just hopping on to let you know that we've changed the title of this thread at the OP's request. Sorry it took us a while!

Mollygo Mon 07-Mar-22 22:21:28

Thanks GN, but because the OP was mostly about men wearing women’s pants, the title change might not help. At least I might stop getting ads like the one I showed earlier.

Oh for goodness sake they've changed the cut it doesn't now fit you well that doesn't mean they are making them for non op transwomen Don't get your knickers in a twist

BlueBelle Fri 11-Mar-22 04:29:09

Seems I'm not rhe only one whose noticed all that lots of men post their reviews in the womens underwear sections.
I think they get a sick kick out of it.
I also found out that a lot of transwomen who keep their male genitalia do it because they're into something called Autogynephillia.
Now there's a word you don't learn about every day!shock

snowberryZ Wed 23-Mar-22 08:24:43

It's well worth a read.
As someone points out
How many women go on the mens underwear section and right icky reviews?
Probably zero!

It's shocking to think that men who self identify as women, but have male genitalia are allowed to go in the women's chamging rooms and try on women's underwear.envy
From now on I am only buying underwear that's in a sealed pack.

PECS Wed 23-Mar-22 09:23:01

There are plenty of places that specialise in trans & TV underwear.

Really can't think that it is a big problem. I buy my pants in the local supermarket or department store..there are always a confusing amount of styles to choose from!

Trying on underwear?

Really?

snowberryZ Wed 23-Mar-22 11:45:40

MawtheMerrier,
Yes really.

humptydumpty Wed 23-Mar-22 11:59:50

This is ridiculous!

1. who tries on underwear??!
2. how many trans women who still have male genitalia do you think there are ???!!!

smacks of DM windup.

MawtheMerrier Wed 23-Mar-22 12:08:09

I’m with you HumptyDumpty on this!

Sounds like someone has a ? in their bonnets about this issue, personally I have had no problems with gussets which are out of proportion and would never buy knickers not in sealed packs!

Blossoming Wed 23-Mar-22 12:34:38

I don’t know any shops that let you try on knickers ?

You are very naive.
Most transwomen these days are encouraged to keep their male genitalia. In other words, very few decide to have bottom surgery.
How do you not know this?confused

And yes, it is quite possible that a
middle aged man, who decides to self identify, would go into a womams changing room to try on women's underwear.

Have you actually read the thread that I provided the link to?

By the way I do t read the daily meal.
So cheap shot.

snowberryZ Wed 23-Mar-22 13:30:38

I don't read the daily mail (butter fingers)

MerylStreep Wed 23-Mar-22 14:16:42

I’m with Humptydumpty load of bollocks.

Love it.
Bollocks are the problemgrin

snowberryZ Wed 23-Mar-22 14:30:44

I know when I've tried bras on in m&s changing rooms, I will very often take the matching pants in as well. Only so that I don't have to trsupse round the store trying to find them.

It's quite possible for a man to do this AND try the underwear on.

I certainly don't want to buy a pair of pants that's previously had male bollocks in them?.

Well, I'm heading towards 60 and have never tried on knickers before buying.

Why the hysteria anyway? Just suppose a bloke HAD tried on a pair you buy. Trans isn't infectious.

Are you for real?
Excuse me for not wanting to purchase underwear that a man has tried on and done God knows what in it.

Oh you made me laugh aloud with that! Surely this is in jest?

You'd know if he'd done 'God knows what' in them. It'd be obvious.

You're that teenager that got kicked off here this morning, come back, aren't you?
