The garments were advertising an establishment known as BJ’s but relying on double entendre.

There is a wholesale supermarket in the US called BJ's, kids with their name starting with B + Junior may get shortened to BJ, Bon Jovi (the group)....

I think it shows more where some posters' minds are and how closed to other possibilities

I was in an event with lots of kids and a young adult was wearing a tshirt referencing a porn website - questionable? Yes! Worth clutching my pearls? Not at all

Oh please. It's obvious what the slogans t he back and front, taken together, were meant to imply.

And yes, adults are right to be shocked at a very young teenager being allowed to wear such a t shirt.

Calling it 'clutching pearls' to try and discredit those adults or make them sound ridiculous is rather a tired tactic.

Take a look at the picture at the top of the thread, a man is wearing the offending sweat shirt too, so whilst the innuendo is clear, it’s not just women and girls.

Men like Bjs, too.

Well I've looked at it. Don't think it was meant to mean what the OP said. I have tried to see what the image in the circle was. I think it's a lobster which some might describe as salty but sweet.

I thought it looked like a wave. One of them is carrying a body board.

BJs is also a firm selling snack foods - some sweet and salty.

Think it's rather inappropriate, if the child is young enough not to understand the reference, should be stopped by its parent. Otherwise, if she looks quite young, possibly underage, then the parent is either irresponsible, out of touch with reality, or stupid and should have given their child better guidance. Unlike Fat Willy, which can be seen as a mildly amusing reference to make anatomy, the t-shirt the BJ logo suggests the child is advertising willingness to perform sexual acts on males. Those reading the message are not likely to know it's simply advertising a clothes brand and a bar.

Dress it up as you will to make sense of it - lobster? I don't think so, never considered a lobster salty - I can't see it as anything but a double entendre given the wording on the back. Pardon the pun, but in very poor taste.

Anyone who can't see exactly what this bar intended is either very naive or being deliberately obtuse. It's no different from FCUK - you could argue that it simply stands for French Connection UK, but we all know what was intended by it. And the vast majority know exactly what was intended by this sweatshirt too.

Good on you GG13 - pitching up for an important viva exam dressed inappropriately is a real No No - it might affect my marking ( Well, just a little bit ). Apart from anything else it’s plain bad manners. I hope your comment ruined the cheeky little sod’s day, and gave him a few weeks of serious insomnia.
