Dear me, seems we have had a bit of 'haranguing' going on here today despite all this 'discussion' of bullying etc- see, i think a lot of it stems from the mindset of those on other forums, (e.g. facebook, mumsnet, snapchat,etc) all more 'cliquey' and aggressive than gransnet was ever intended to be.But thats just my opinion..you don't have to agree..or disagree...?I'm off to do something more boring & routine now, finish making sunday lunch. Bye Ladies...?

Oh gawd, their trying it with me now too- yes i know mums get older, I'm a mum (and a gran) myself- and still doing everyday mum stuff as youngest still in college& at home- and yes i know we have MEN on here- but presumably these mums and men are also older eg 'granny's & grandads' ?-the mumsnet ones i was on about are the young ones- a fair few of them seem to flit across here to ask 'opinions' on their mothers or mothers in laws, (simply because they are disagreeing with what they want etc) and seem to want our 'opinion'- and then seem to stay on here haranguing decent older folk for airing their own views! Guess they think its easier or more fun to bully the oldies maybe as the younger folk on mumsnet etc have got wise to them? - THATS those i meant.Does that spell it out now that I'm not discriminating against men nor younger grans like myself.Good. As i said no need to say 'like' or 'dislike'. ??

That's weird, Marydoll. I wouldn't construe that as bullying at all. Just someone being rude and ignorant. I'd ignore it.

Not weird in my book. We respond politely to a post about GN only being for actual grans and we are accused of haranguing.
What is that about? GN should be inclusive, not exclude certain posters.

See, i wasn't 'off' as standard..I was off checking on lunch, as still doing 'mumsy' things as well! And later I'm doing a 'gran' thing by knitting! (And you don't have to paste/re-quote all I've already said, as thats just plain boring & repetitive..?No i weren't 'bullying'-i pointed out, more or less- why would NON grans,(i.e women) or NON grandads(i.e men) even want to be on a forum named 'Gransnet'? If they were not one?- the name itself suggests you ARE a gran OR a grandad- does it not??I realise some of us are mums& dads, as it stands to reason you are first, so you can then become a gran or grandad- (a bit like the caterpillar evolves to a butterfly) but as i said further down- i meant the younger mumsnet flitterers who are NOT anywhere near old enough to be any type of gran.(or grandad) not even remotely.The ones who just want us to agree with them wanting to get things their own way. And want us 'oldies' to take their side in a family stand off.(You know the ones)! Then they seem to stay on here and disagree with all our opinions.And its not on.?

I am guessing volver knows that having a great niece means shes an aunty. I vaguely remember her saying she wasnt good at biology but I still think she will have grasped that.

Will Grans who don’t knit be allowed? What about people who become grandparents through marriage without being caterpillars, sorry, parents first? I don’t agree that Gransnet is for grannies only. It is inclusive and that is a very good thing.

You are correct Galaxy. I know very little biology. One might say, none. But I do know where babies come from.

I was'nt saying exclude a certain demographic im pointing out by the very name Gransnet- that in itself suggests its for grans(or grandads) doesn't it??? Maybe the folk making the websites mumsnet& gransnet should have thought that through a bit first, hm??? And to include men too- so maybe 'parentnet' and 'grandparentnet' might have been more inclusive, if more of a mouthful.But to mix the younger (NON grandparents) with the older ones does not gel well IN MY OPINION.Which was what i said- that it was MY opinion, not everyones, and no need to agree.or disagree.It was'nt bullying anyone i was saying what I thought.Or are we not allowed to at all now? Because there's some on here have plenty to say about me giving my opinion.?(it won't sway me)?

You are allowed to say anything you like within the guidelines, and people can respond, its sort of how it works. Obviously I dont know most peoples age, but the youngest people I 'know' on here are in their fifties. I dont really see many younger MN etters popping over unless you mean the troll posts and they are just well trolls.

Oh, and parsley3, yes i mentioned through marriage by including 'STEPgrans' and yes non knitting grans should be included- and also Volvo i could also knit at a young age(and taught grandson at 10& surprise surprise he was not a grandad!) You are both just being picky now to be awkward like all the younger mumsnet interlopers..i havent been on here for a little while and i can't say i like what its become-but i can be sure to be monitoring it.It used to be full of nice folk just having a chinwag together, & airing a few decent views.Not all attacking every little thing one or two say.Spoiling a decent gentle website.Ridiculous. ?
