Let’s just brush it under the carpet and hope it goes away.

A village outside our City has had a case of four men trying to abduct children, the Police were warned of this numerous times apparently, a local shopkeeper observed these men more than once and called 999.

The men got brave and tried to bundle a 9 year old girl into their car.
Thankfully a member of the public intervened.

These men are allegedly residing at an hotel locally with lots of other men.

They were arrested for the attempted abduction of 5 minors.
They have been released on conditional bail.

As they have no ID, no traceability and nothing to lose it’s very likely they will just disappear into the ether.

This has not been widely reported and apparently local people are furious.

Last year a local university hall of residence was used as accommodation for immigrants, local opposition was strong but it went ahead, a young girl was sexually assaulted, there was one news report and then it went quiet.

The men were all moved on.
No explanation……..just all gone.

Is this a common theme across the UK?

Why are we not allowed to talk about this?

Will our new government offer some transparency or will this just continue to be brushed under the carpet?

OMG , This is absolutely awful 😢 A sign of the times not “ supposed” to talk about it & or the fact that this is immigrants, not widely publicised either !
The local community has a right to be outraged & something needs to be done .
How can parents even let their children walk to school when there is the fear of this on the doorstep .
Yes , wider media coverage needs to be on this .

What is your local newspaper saying about it.
Have you contacted your local MP?

karmalady Tue 09-Jul-24 11:53:36

contact GBnews. The media should be jumping onto this. This is awful

Sago Tue 09-Jul-24 11:56:27

It’s been widely discussed on X according to my daughter.
The press are saying very little and will not admit it’s the “hotel dwellers”.

Luckygirl3 Tue 09-Jul-24 11:59:47

Well - no one knows if it is the "hotel dwellers" - but it is important that it is fully investigated. If it is them, then they must be arrested.

GrannyGravy13 Tue 09-Jul-24 12:00:23

I can only echo what other posters have said.

Contact your local MP.

Contact local Councillor.

Contact Local Newspaper.

Contact GB News or contact AdamBrooksAKAEssexPR @EssexPR via X(he is a regular contributor/GB presenter) he has a high profile and is passionate about anything to do with children.

If it hasn't been widely reported, how do you know about it? I'm afraid I take most things on X (Twitter) with a pinch of salt. It's well-known that incidents get exaggerated. As an example, look what's happened to the story about Reform fielding non-existent candidates.

Contact the police!

Did you read the OP?

These men have been arrested and released.

So who are these men in a local hotel with access to a car? Sorry, but something doesn't add up here.

Surely the news has been reported in at least one MSM or local paper? Definitely not something that would remain unreported? Otherwise it remains allegations. (Not disagreeing with the O/P, its just that so many rumours do fly around)

If they've been released, how do you know that they shouldn't have been? Maybe the police have done their job and they had no case to answer.

PS. Yes, I did read the op. If you have first-hand evidence, go back to the police.

JaneJudge Tue 09-Jul-24 12:06:51

didn't loads of children go missing from one of the immigration places?

Thankfully the police do not gather evidence from X .

JaneJudge Tue 09-Jul-24 12:23:32

could you imagine. People would be getting imprisoned for parking their cars incorrectly next to unpicked up dog poo

That’s what I thought.

I’m sure if they came here on a dinghy or the back of a lorry and were organising themselves to abduct a child then procuring a car would not be beyond them.

Chocolatelovinggran Tue 09-Jul-24 12:31:36

Have you checked the veracity of this with anyone? If it is true, it bears investigation.
However, on a few occasions in my career, I was contacted by an anxious parent regarding a story about a local attempted abduction.
In every case, these were untrue.

Watch this the UK doesn't give statistics on nationalities that commit crimes but Denmark and Sweden do, its an eye opener, although not an eye opener for me.

It will all be brushed under the carpet especially now Vyette Cooper is in charge of immigration and people wonder why thousands and thousands of people are turning to Reform it's because no other party gives a dam.

Sorry - I should have explained " my career" : I was a headteacher
