Oh Crossstitch fan, thank you! I popped into a lovely little haberdashery shop near me this morning and was advised to iron the linen and purchase a ring which I have. I shall keep at it as I’m finding it quite therapeutic.

I did answer as soon as I read your post, but I think it’s disappeared! Story of my life on here.
What I said in the ‘lost’ post was that you need to remove your fabric from the ring once you have stopped stitching for the day. If you don’t, you risk a permanent ring indentation on it. Then flatten the fabric and leave it on a flat surface if possible until you are ready to stitch again. Failing that, just roll it up lightly, not tightly before putting it away.
