Yes, my DH is guilty of this. Any flat surface will do. Sometimes the window sill in the kitchen, which drives me mad.
I always put my car keys in the same place. Why wouldn't you. My DH has a corner in the kitchen where I dump all the stuff he leaves lying around. He still loses stuff
On the other hand, I have often gone around looking for my glasses only to find them on my head 
My husband is a nightmare for ‘losing’ his reading glasses.
I got fed up with checking the loo ( he’s a loo reader- something I find odd) the garage, the shed etc etc so we bought an additional 3 budget pairs,me optimistically thinking he could leave a pair in each place he needs them.
Does that happen? No.
On one occasion when I helped him look all four pairs were in the garage, neatly placed next to his workbench
Still love him to bits tho!
